This spacious attractive "Maison de Maitre" and Stone Barn complex with stepped swimming pool, and table tennis, sits in 3 acres of private parkland in southwest France. It offers a peaceful rural location yet very close to all the provisions you will need for self catering and amenities for your enjoyment. A calm beautiful area of rolling farmland, orchards and vineyards hosts medieval bastides, historic buildings, restaurants, markets, music, arts, tennis, golf, leisure-lakes, canoeing, riding. Long leisurely meals are a vital part of rural French holidays. There are many options for the entire party to eat and relax, outside, and on terraces. Alternatively dining out is a pleasure, with a wide choice of restaurants from the haute cuisine to regional fare and a lively italian pizzeria within 15 mins, to Michelin starred and the more exotic within 30 mins. Raffet is a few kilometres from both Eymet [Dordogne] to the north( 10 mins), and Miramont de Guyenne [Lot et Garonne] to the south (5 mins). Bergerac, Marmande, Issigeac and Duras are all about a half-hour's car journey. Local towns have market days which offer a wide selection of fresh produce and tourist attractions. Some like Miramont are very French whilst Eymet has a significant lively English community. The vineyards of Bergerac and Duras regions are all within 30 mins. The Grand Vin of Bordeaux is further but St Emilion (80 mins) is well worth the visit and the Medoc with its great chateaux is about 90 mins

The swimming pool is usually open from mid May until end September.The responsibility for safety always rests with the adults in your party but there is an approved alarm system as well.

Bathrooms-The House has an en-suite bathroom and a family shower room. The Barn Cottage has an ensuite shower room and a family shower room. Bedrooms-The House-2 double and 1 twin bedroom. The Barn Cottage has the flexibilty to have either 2 doubles & 1 twin or 1 double & 2 twins. Lounges- The House has a very large salon that seats up to 6 in comfortable arm chairs and sofas and a number of other comfortable wicker chairs close at hand. The Barn Cottage accommodates 6 on sofas and armchairs. Dining-The very large kitchen in the House accommodates 8 add a small table to squeeze 12. However it is usually delightful to eat on the covered house terrace where there is space and facilities for many more than 12. Or on trestle tables and benches under the walnut trees or elsewhere. The Barn cottage has dining for 6 either inside or on the pool terrace, but other than breakfast groups normally eat together.

The house is set well back from the road through entry gates to provide privacy and lots of parking. As well as the 2 upper terraces around the house there is a lower terrace under the shade of walnut trees. Trestle tables and benches provide the opportunity for you to choose any number of places to eat. The terrace surrounding the pool has sun loungers and a shaded area. Table tennis is set up near to the pool on the grass. Nearby a pergola offers further shaded seating with a view back to the pool, and to the Barn cottage and Maison.

The property is surrounded by trees and hedges adding to privacy. The lawns in front of and immediately behind the maison and surrounding the pool and terrace are extensive. Land beyond the Sechoir and across the stream is largely left as meadows.

Land immediately across the road is farmland usually planted for hay and animal feed.

Louise can also arrange an end of let cleaning service to ensure your holiday ends on a relaxed note.
