The Tuscany region
Situated between the two sub regions of Lunigiana and Garfagnana both have their own National Parks and are blessed with historical towns and beautiful scenery. There are many castles and museums and the villages of the region are both fascinating and enchanting. In the height of summer there are mountain breezes which are a welcome break from the heat of the coast and towns.
Sermezzana is a typical traditional stone built country village, with many alleys, arches and steps and is mainly pedestrian since when the village was built there were no cars. this is typical of the area and very much a characteristic of the village charms. This said - there is parking in two main areas in the village.
The whole area is blessed with beautiful country and mountain views with trails and lakes a plenty. During the summer months there are numerous festivals celebrating the history and gastronomy of the region.
