“Lovely place to stay”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2016

The cottage is lovely and very well planned and laid out, with parking and a pretty little garden which is full of flowers with a bbq and table and chairs. A lot of care has been expended on making the property welcoming, all the little things like dishwasher tablets etc are there, together with a little hamper, milk etc when you arrive - a lot of care has been taken to make you feel welcome. We have previously visited close to Christmas 2015 and the decorations were a lovely touch - the welcome and consideration for guests is probabaly the best of all the places we have rented and makes the difference for us. Cleanliness and decoration are excellent and collecting keys and dealing with owner are all very easy. We visited Oxford and Blenheim Palace several times as well as the Cotswold villages, it's very central for all these. The village itself is quiet and pleasant (it's not a tourist mecca like some villages) with a co-op and pub within easy walking distance. Overall a great place to stay to explore the area.

“Everything perfect”

Well equipped, clean and comfortable accommodation in ideal location for exploring Cotswolds and visiting Oxford. Much appreciated the welcome hamper.

“Beautiful cottage in iconic location”

Reviewed 10 Jan 2016

We had a wonderful time here. This cottage was perfect for us (family with three kids aged 11 to 16). It has everything you need and our host was wonderful. She made sure everything was perfect for our arrival but never once bothered us in any way. The village has easy access to the whole district from Oxford to Blenheim palace to numerous other gorgeous villages. Our one big mistake was only booking 5 days!

“The Best Honeymoon I Could Wish For”

Reviewed 21 Mar 2014

The Old School House sits next to a church in a beautiful, quiet countryside. The idyllic environment lends itself to utter relaxation while supplying all the modern amenities to keep guests comfortable. The host does an exemplary job of catering to visitors' needs while also supplying a basket of local goodies to welcome you. With a location just down the road from a grocer and no more than twenty minutes drive to local Cotswold towns, this proved to be the best base for day travels and the wisest self-catering option for any guest.

“A perfect, lovely place to stay.”

What a perfect place to base yourself to visit the lovely Cotswolds. Wouldn't think twice about going back there again. All the information provided in the pack left there was spot on, only wish we could've stayed longer.

“Most relaxing Christmas in years!”

Fantastic cottage - very clean and tastefully decorated with all facilities one could need. Welcome basket with lots of local cakes, biscuits, cheeses etc was a lovely touch. Great location, ideal for visiting Cotswold Wildlife Park, Birdland etc. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.

“Superb quality cottage - centrally located for surrounding Cotswold villages”

Reviewed 20 Nov 2013

The cottage could not have been more welcoming - we arrived after dark, having travelled all da,y to find that the heating and lights were switched on and a more than generous welcome package had been left for our enjoyment. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the bed linen and towels were of excellent quality. The beds were very comfortable and for a cottage the rooms were quite spacious. The kitchen was very well equipped - to the point that my husband said "I bet they don't have this..." only to find it in the cupboard. The plumbing - pressure of shower, hot water etc., was very good, no noisy tank filling noises in the middle of the night. The heating and log burner were gas and very efficient - There was also a very good 'house guide' left by the owner.. We were travelling from outside of the UK and the owner contacted us the day before and on the evening of arrival to make sure all was OK for us - she was extremely helpful and obliging and we could not recommend this cottage highly enough. We were 4 adults travelling together and the cottage was more than spacious enough for us.

“Very comfortable and perfect location”

Reviewed 9 Oct 2013

After a hectic week of sightseeing in London, we stayed at the Old School House for three nights. It was just what we hoped for - quiet, comfortable, picturesque. The location turned out to be perfect as it was central to the places we wanted to see in the Cotswolds but the village itself - Milton Under Wychwood - was not very touristy and felt like an authentic part of English rural life, especially when we lined up with the locals to buy fish and chips from the van that stops in the village green on Thursday nights. The village also had a supermarket and post-office. We organised for rental bikes to be delivered to the Old School House and went on quite a few rides around the area. I also had a fantastic massage from a local therapist - Windrush Therapies - who came with mobile massage table and set up in the living room. Lovely.

“a perfect english summer”

Reviewed 14 Aug 2013

We, a famliy with 3 children (9 - 15 years) have spent our summer holiday in GB for the first time - and it was really perfect. The house is originally from 1850; the apartment has been renewed within the last years and shows every comfort required. The oven in the kitchen is great, the bathroom is big and was very clean. The beds were also good; I just perfer the a mattress a little bit harder than it was. The terrace was sunny the hole day, so we could have our diner outside every night. Living in a big town, we particular enyod the silence during the nights - just the pigeons tried to wake us early in the morning. The village is very nice. The local supermarket has everything needed an is open till late in the evening - also on sundays. The fish & chips van comes every thursday - this is a "must". All in all, we had a really great time!
