There is a separate room where there is a kitchenette and a large wardrobe. This room can hold a couple of cots, if you prefer your children to sleep in a separate room. We can provide a travel cot (0-1 year olds) and/or a cot-bed (2-5 year olds) should you require these.

Guest Access

You will have access to the guest suite of our house. The suite has its own private front door, a large main bedroom, a kitchenette/storage area and a large luxury bathroom. The suite is locked off from the main part of the house, so you will have privacy to come and go and feel secure in your own part of the house.

Your hosts

We are a family of 4 - Richard and Inga and our two young children. We will usually be around when you are staying and on hand to answer any questions you have. However, if you prefer your privacy we will leave you alone to enjoy your break! We will provide a booklet detailing how everything works and hints and tips for exploring the local area.

Getting Around

Barleydean is in the countryside with access to some lovely walks right from the front door. There is a pub 5-10 minutes walk away and a bus stop 15 minutes walk away. The bus can take you to Edinburgh centre, local towns and the retail park. However, we recommend that you have a car during your stay here.

“Very spacious, lovely location”

Reviewed 19 Jan 2016

We stayed at Barleydean with our two young children when visiting family nearby and were pleasantly surprised by how much space there was. The main bedroom/living space is huge as is the bathroom with both a bath and a walk-in shower. The suite has been decorated recently and was very clean, warm and comfortable. We will definitely be returning.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review, we are pleased that you all had an enjoyable stay and hope to welcome you all again at some point in the future.

“Excellent rural location but close to many amenities”

Reviewed 12 Jan 2016

We stayed here for a week. The room and facilities were clean and comfortable. The room and ensuite were nice and large. We enjoyed our morning cup of nespresso! The walks nearby are excellent. The local pub is a joy. Although we planned to "get away from it all" it was great to have wifi.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review - we are pleased to hear that you had a pleasant stay with us at Barleydean Suite, and enjoyed some of the local amenities. We hope to welcome you back again at some point in the near future.
