“Very enjoyable short stay”

Reviewed 3 May 2018

I booked this cottage for my husband's birthday weekend. And it was just beautiful. Stunning scenery and lovely walks. Which the ladies had provided directions for 12 different walks. There was arrival biscuits for both us and our dogs! Lovely touch. Would defiantly recommend and would love to come back in the future.

“Perfect pet friendly cottage in beautiful surroundings”

Reviewed 15 Jun 2017

Excellent location being close to many attractions in the Peak District and yet in a beautiful peaceful spot with many lovely walks just on the doorstep. The owners live just behind the cottages and although we didn't trouble them we feel they would have been very helpful if needed. Got to meet them on couple of occasions and they were very informative. Good local information available in the cottage. Our every need was satisfied and provided for, especially the very welcome tea tray with fantastic homemade biscuits! Eggs from their chickens also available, which we regularly used. Local pub, The Anglers Arms, which is just down the road provided good food for us and dogs were made welcome with treats at the bar! This was our first visit to the Peak District and only because we wanted to find somewhere close to Chatsworth House for the RHS Flower show, and we were not disappointed and hope to return! Maybe this year, if we can find the time, but certainly next year! A lovely cottage, beautiful place to visit, shame the weather was not quite so good although we did have a few good days and evenings, but guess that is what to expect in UK! The Ramblers of a Resident booklet in the cottage is a good read, and gave a lot of information and history of the cottage - thanks to Vic!

“Our Holiday Haven”

Reviewed 26 Sep 2014

We have stayed at least 14 times and we have enjoyed each one (so has our dog) The cottage is set in lovely gardens where you can sit and watch the birds come to the feeders including, members of the tit family, chaffinches, nuthatches, and the great spotted woodpecker. We start to unwind the moment we arrive, you are always made to feel welcome and if you need anything nothing is too much trouble for Vicky, Pam and Vic. It is a good base for exploring the beautiful Peak District and there are lots of nice pubs where you can have a nice meal and most of them you can take you dog inside with you (great if its raining). We're looking forward to our next visit.
