Our recently refurbished family owned villa, RockPools, is located in a peaceful wooded valley that runs down to the private sheltered sandy beach of Black Rock Resort, Millendreath. Your home by the sea offers a sunny balcony with stunning sea views to the right and rolling green hills and woodland to the left. It is the perfect place for alfresco dining, reading your favourite book or magazine or just sitting back and soaking up the sun. Our compact purpose built holiday retreat provides everything you need in an ideal location for you to enjoy the best of Cornwall and Devon.
Featuring a large south facing balcony with beautiful views to the safe, sandy cove about 130 metres away and surrounding countryside, the villa offers relaxing modern accommodation. Comprising of one double and one twin bedroom, a new well equipped kitchen, a modern bathroom and a fantastic lounge with large sliding doors leading to the sun terrace. In addition to the terrace we have a small private side area and a patio table with four chairs. Binoculars are provided so you can make the most of this wonderful view.
The double bedroom has a picture window with an opening door and if you leave the window open at night you can drift off to sleep to the wonderfully relaxing sound of the sea.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, microwave, oven and hob. We have provided ample crockery, cutlery, glasses and cookware.
There is a sofa, table and chairs, flat screen TV with built in DVD, Free Wi-Fi, iPod / iPhone docking station and various books, DVD's and games.
Electricity is via a card meter. We will supply £10 worth at the beginning of your stay and more cards can be bought from the site office.
Many of our guests prefer to bring their own bed linen (quilt covers, sheets & pillow cases) however if you would like us to make up your beds for you we would be happy to supply bed linen for £15 extra per bed. Please ask if required.
Please note our villa is a pet free & smoke free zone.
Parking is in the private car park in the valley approx 100 metres away after unloading at foot of villa steps. It is gated with pass code on exit.
Black Rock, Millendreath has its own private beach and a small shop. The new beach front cafe which won the coverted TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence 2015 serves wonderful breakfasts, drinks, snacks and evening meals.
The valley is very peaceful and we have pretty Looe just 1 mile away, with quirky shops to wander around, a good selection of restaurants and a small nightclub. There are lovely walks from the villa, through the woods, which are blanketed with Bluebells in the Spring or a half an hour stroll across the cliff tops from Millendreath into Looe. If you are feeling adventurous you can take the beach route, at low tide exploring the rock pools as you go.
At high tide Black Rock beach is small, however once the tide is out it reveals a big sandy beach and dozens of rock pools. Millendreath has a jetty, which provides enclosed sheltered bathing at high tide or a very popular place for the local or visiting fisherman to wile away a few hours fishing.
Millendreath enjoys a particularly mild climate so is an ideal location for a short break. We often pop down down for a long week-end recharge and we can offer very competitive rates throughout the year.
There are so many wonderful places to explore, the Eden Project, the enchanting Lost Gardens of Heligan both approximately only 25 miles away. The Monkey Sanctuary (10 minutes drive) all make for a fantastic days out for the whole family.
The beautiful old fishing port of Mevagissy is 27 miles away and even the north coast towns of Newquay and Padstow are within one hours driving time from your holiday villa. The old fishing port of Polperro is 5 miles away, but if you would like to try a spot of fishing for yourself you can hire a skippered boat in Looe for deepsea, shark, conger or mackerel. Other amenities close by include horse riding stables, golf courses, sea and course fishing.
The Black Rock resort is currently undergoing a multi million pound regeneration. Although most of the work will be carried out in the low season you may find some building works ongoing during your stay. We have reflected this in the price and will try to keep you informed as much as possible.

"Beautiful villa in a great location"
The villa is a real home from home. All the furnishings and décor are of a great quality. Fab sofa to put your feet up on after a tiring day on the beach! It was really nice that so many basics are provided such as washing up liquid, coffee, tea etc - these little things make a big difference to a holiday experience. Millendreath itself might not be to everyone's taste. There are very few facilities on-site - no playground for example but the lovely beaches on the doorstep were enough for us. Some of the other holiday homes are also looking a little shabby and need the TLC that Rockpools has clearly had. The location is superb; we enjoyed the coastal walk to Looe most days. You can also get a day pass for Looe Bay Holiday park at the top of the road for £10 if you fancy a swim and a game of tennis or mini golf. The food at the beach restaurant is top quality - as is the Coddy Shack.
We are so glad you had a lovely time and the Villa was everything you had hoped for. Thank you for the tip about the day pass for Looe Bay Holiday Park, no doubt our other guests will also make use of the facilities

"Lovely Villa and Nice Break"
We had a lovely chilled out time here at Rock Pools. Villa was really nice and even had wifi and an i pod dock which was great. Weather wasn't great but still managed to get out and about, and even walked round to Looe on the coastal path which was fun navigating back in the dark. Thank you for making the villa so comfortable and relaxing. Mr & Mrs Zee
Thank you for your kind review, so pleased you were able to get out and about and make the most of the beautiful area. Glad you navigated your way from Looe, sounds like quite an adventure!
