The Andalucia region
Situated in the hills above the mediterranean sea in between malaga and marbella. Just 15 mins away from the coast by car. Known for its wonderful picturesque views over the med, The Costa del Sol Generally has good weather all year round. Visitors come from all over the world all year round returning time and time again to this magical hilltop white washed spanish village.
Climate ranges from 14 degrees celcius in winter up to 30 in the summer.
There are many festivals throughout the year in Mijas as it is well known for. The 3 Kings over the Christmas period,Semana Santa over easter period,Mijas International day in June, the night of san juan, concerts, theatre etc etc all throughout the year. Mijas is also great for walkers and bike riders as there are many hills to walk up to. There is a beautiful little church in the mountain just 15 mins walk on a pathway with stunning views over the whole village, worth a walk. Mijas is a true gem.
Mijas Pueblo is one of Spains hiddens treasures. Set in the mountains between malaga and marbella. If you intened to visit a typical spanish village then this is definately the one. Mijas has it all. Ferias in the summer, andalucian horses, flamenco in the square aswell as many other interesting events including a typical market. Mijas has kept its spanish charm and individualism. Tourists from all over the world visit Mijas all year round. Tiny unique shops line most of the streets, all brimming with souvenirs. The local wares such as ceramics and leatherwork, jewellery and paintings are more rare, but can still be found. There are an abundance of restaurants and tapas bars amongst the cobbled streets of mijas.
The village is split into several levels, each being connected by narrow roads and wonderful walkways. Plaza de la Paz (Peace Square) keeps up to its name as you sit in one of the street bars and soak up the atmosphere. This plaza is marked by a white statue of a hand and a dove. La Plaza de la Constitucion is in the heart of the village and in the centre of the square is a beautiful fountain from which the birds drink. This fountain was carved by Galiano, using blocks of marble that slid down the mountains after the floods in november 2, 1884. (There is a brand of water 23 feet up on one of the houses on Calle Del Pilar.) The square is surrounded by cafés and shops. Here you will also find one of the Farmacias.
Why not visit the local chocolate factory, or visit many of the unique shops such as Mijas Magic in this square.
Every Wednesday there is a flamenco show on in the main plaza (virgin de la peña). Across from the square there is a very informative helpful tourist information office where you can find out what goes on in Mijas and surrounding areas.
Mijas Pueblo is a must see for everyone. Everyone that visits say its amazing and always returns. 2 hours drive away in the winter is the ski resort of the Sierra nevada.

Finally got time to review our stay in Mijas. We stayed for a week the end of January as a birthday treat for my husband. Suzie met us at the airport and made us feel very welcome, she even drove us around Mijas pointing out supermarkets and bars/restaurants etc. which was really helpful. The apartment was ideal and the terrace and garden were a delight. The weather during the day was sunny and warm and we were able to enjoy breakfast outside every morning then relax on the sunbeds until 1pm when we walked into the village for tapas and a drink. Wonderful. The apartment is an oasis in the middle of Mijas and also easy to get to other places in the area with or without a car. We would definately recommend and love to visit again..
Happy you both enjoyed your stay, if there was anything that could have made your holiday that little bit more extra special please message me as i like to make your holiday perfect in every way, lovely to meet you both

Great spot at the edge of the lovely village so able to easily walk in or up to the mountains, plenty of sun traps in the garden, comfortable accommodation, very helpful owners.
Glad you both had a lovely holiday

"Comfortable appartment in excellent location"
The apartment is exactly as described and the owner could not be more friendly or helpful. After a while staying there you begin to feel part of the community rather than a visitor. You are spoiled for choice for eating out and supermarkets are nearby. Whilst you do not have to be fit to stay there, those who have difficulty in walking may struggle.

"Lovely and cosy."
My friend and I have just returned from this lovely little apartment, for a short break. We have been lucky enough to visit Mijas a number of times and usually stay in larger properties.....but as this was just for a couple of nights....we thought we would go for something smaller...we certainly weren't disappointed! Suzie was kind enough to meet us at the entrance to the village and drive us up to the property...and gave us a 'run down' of everything. The apartment has a very cosy feel to it, with a sofa and chair in the lounge area......remember...the t.v is very poor in this part of Spain....however.....Suzie has a vast choice of DVD's to choose from. However......not everyone wants/ needs to watch t.v when away. There is a fully functioning kitchen area and table/chairs...so if you want to cook....your sorted. The bathroom is compact and clean...with ample hot water and plenty of towels. Although there is a beautiful little garden with table/chairs/ recliners.....we didn't use them.....but I'm sure it will be a huge bonus in the warmer months? We thoroughly enjoyed our stay....and wouldn't hesitate to return as it was extremely cosy/ clean and very central for accessing the village. My only word of warning.....if you have any mobility problems....be wary....as there are lots of pretty steep steps for accessing the property.....and also to get into the centre of the village. Thankyou to Suzie.....it was a pleasure meeting you.
Im so happy you both enjoyed your visit to mijas and the property, it was a pleasure meeting with you both also. Thankyou so much

"wonderful little oasis"
Stayed for a couple of weeks at this little gem tucked away in a quiet but very central location in this lovely unspoilt town. It was my first time in Mijas and this is the perfect base to explore both the town itself and the area in general. Most of the appliances were new or nearly new and the bed was very a comfortable IKEA number. Great little garden with sun or shade and cool inside despite the summer heat. There was even a beach bag and beach towels ! Suzie and Karen were very kind helpful and I'd love to stay again..... when it's less than 40 degrees !
I am so happy you had a lovely holiday, It means everything to me. Thankyou, Suzie

"pretty apartment, living like the locals"
i had a great stay in this pretty, comfortable and clean apartment.I am a solo female traveller and felt completely safe. Suzis friend Karen, who is lovely, picked me up as arranged at the airport and took me straight to the apartment, about 30 min drive. It was lovely to occasionaly hear the neighbours chatting in Spanish as you relaxed in the garden, rather than be forced to listen to loud samey music and shouting round a communal pool. I did have the opportunity to use a pool located very nearby but didn't take Suzi up on this offer this time so cannot comment on what it was like. The apartment is situated at the top of a steep ish hill, and is only a few minutes walk from the village. Threre are frequent buses running to nearby towns at various stops in the village. There are plenty of restaurants, interesting shops and the views are quite simply stunning. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment and am hoping to go back next year.

"Perfect location with a beautiful garden!"
I arrived late at night and the first thing that hit me as I walked in the garden was the beautiful smell of flowers. The apartment is really cozy and makes you feel at home. I sat out in the garden both in the morning and at night. It was brilliant! And the best thing is you just have to walk around the corner and you have all the restaurants in front of you.

"This Apartment and location is a must for anyone."
Had great communication with owner from the moment of booking. The owners even picked us up and dropped us back at Malaga Airport.Apartment had everything you required, could,nt fault it in anyway. The Village/town of Mijas where the apartment is situated is so beautiful. Its a must for anyone. It reminded me of a sett from a movie, picturesque and quaint. If your an Artist or Painter you will find beautiful scenes to take back home. But if you love quaint old fashioned charm,go to Majas. And of course stay in Suzie,s Apartment,as we did.
I am so happy you enjoyed your stay, it means everything to us making sure your holiday is perfect. Thankyou

"nice apartment but"
A nice apartment but not for those with mobiltiy issues, we found the apartment to be clean & tidy with everything we needed the garden was lovely although we thought it needed cutting back a bit, when we arrived the tv showed limited english channels & sky news but half way through the holiday the dish was taken away no more tv we don't go on holiday to watch tv but its nice to keep up with the news. Mijas is lovely lots of very nice restaurants & we were lucky enough to have a blues concert & a European event on our weekends all free. We would recommend this apartment we found it to be comfortable & clean although we didn't find the clean sheets until we were going home we washed & dried the ones on the bed, all in all we had a lovley holiday. Ian & Ange Rochester
Im glad you enjoyed your stay. Im sorry you felt that the tv was taken away. This is because all of the costa del sol have lost all english channels due to the government taking this away so this is not under our control, we had to take the satellite dish down by a certain date in August otherwise we would have had a €7000 fine. I am sorry you couldn't ask me about this or take a look on the description when you booked. The sheets get washed by the cleaners along with all towels etc at the end of the visitors holiday. However as specified on the description if required extra cleaning of sheets during your stay is optional and an extra fee which i would have of course taken care of if specified, no problem at all. Normally it isn't what visitors require, hence the price of the apartment. I am always there to to suit visitors needs only a phone call away. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and Mijas. Thankyou

"Best location, lovely apartment."
We had a great stay in Suzie's apartment which is handy for all the shops and tapas bars in Mijas. The photos are a true reflection of the apartment and Suzie is always on hand if you need anything. We loved it!
