Description from owner

Description

Derwen Fawr is a large yet cosy property, perfectly suited for family and friends to visit South Wales for a holiday or special event. Whilst it is close to Cardiff it is ideally located in a rural village next to the village pub perfect for a quiet night after a busy day exploring the area.

The property has three very spacious bedrooms and two equally spacious family bathrooms on the first floor..

In addition to the three bedrooms upstairs there are two sofabeds in the extremely large living room (26' x 20') and a further one in the snug.

For larger groups or those guests with restricted mobility, we have a fourth downstairs en suite bedroom in the connected annexe which is available for some dates at an extra cost. Please enquire if a fourth bedroom is required.

The property is very large but still has that cosy and welcoming feel.

It is the perfect location for the larger family or group holiday. If you do not believe us then have a look at our reviews!

“Fantastic place to stay”

Reviewed 9 Mar 2015

What a great place to stay. The cottage is massive and in great condition. It has everything you could wish for, and for all ages! Our Granddaughter loved the kiddys leather chair and stool. The wood burner was used by us and adds to the ambience of the place. Will definitely be back!!!!

“Very relaxing and comfortable holiday home”

Reviewed 17 Feb 2015

We would recommend this holiday home for a stay. There is plenty of space, it is very tastefully decorated and furnished and we lacked nothing for our stay.

“Happy Wedding Stay”

Reviewed 5 Dec 2013

Excellent, spacious house; ideal for family parties and easily located for Cardiff or Newport. Well furnished and a friendly welcome, with a very useful food welcome pack. Coped easily with many wedding guests coming and going and was warm and comfortable.

“This property had everything you could require for an enjoyable visit”

Reviewed 18 Dec 2012

We thoughly enjoyed staying in this cottage, it was clean, the beds were comfortable and the lounge had wonderful sofas. The kitchen was very well equiped for everything we prepared. The location suited us to travel into Cardiff for the Speedway GP at the Millenium Stadium, and to spend time at Barry Island and Weston-super-Mare. Best of all was the welcome by our hosts and the attention to anything we might need. We are looking forward to our return visit in 2013

“Lovely comfortable spacious homely house”

Reviewed 9 Oct 2012

We arrived late Friday night and the owners were happy to let us in at that late hour. The house is well equipped, decorated beautifully, furnishings and bedding were all in excellent condition. The owners were more than happy to help with any queries and even left us some groceries on our arrival, which were much appreciated on Saturday morning breakfast. Pub next door also did excellent food. Would highly recommend this house to stay at.
