Description

Villa ALLEGRA is a large stone building, located on the hill above Orta peninsula, a few hundreds meters from the old village of Miasino.

Built around 1885 by Salaroli Marquis who lived in the nearby Castle of Miasino, the Todor-style building was used as stable of the castle until it was restored in 1990.

Surrounded by a five-thousand meter age-old garden, Villa Allegra faces a wide lawn and looks on to a spectacular view of Orta Lake and Mount Rosa.

Villa Allegra was restored in respect of the hytorical construction, using materials and architectural solutions which could keep safe its original charm.

Beside the owners' apartment, there are other four independent flats: Casa Vale, Casa Clò, Casa Balè and Casa Serra.
Guests can use the shared garden, furnished with teak deck chairs, tables and chairs, and the parking area inside the property.

Location description from owner

The Piedmont region

While walking to Orta along the beautiful lakeside, you will admire the neo-classical 19th century Villas with beautiful gardens of azaleas and camellias. Then you will enter the old town through a narrow street, between elegant buildings of the 17th and 18th centuries, with porticos and loggias looking on gardens degrading to the lake.

You will then get to Motta Square, with its archades, its small shops and bars: at the center of this cosy 'salon' stands the Palazzo della Comunit della Riviera' (1582) seat of the Govern of the town for many centuries.

Walking in the town, along the narrow and winding streets, you will find many surprises: amazing wrought-iron gates and balconies, medieval views, slate roofs, secluded gardens facing the lake shores, sixteenth-century houses, frescoes, neo-classic facades, stairways, Renaissance buildings, stone portals.

You can discover the beauties of Sacro Monte, walking among the Votive Chapels, or visit San Giulio Island, its high bell tower, its ancient Basilica and the nearby imposing Benedectine Seminary still hosting by more than fifty enclosed nuns. Walk along the sole circular street of the island, surrounded by 17th and 18th century houses and gardens, once inhabited by the ecclesiastics, and enjoy the quiet, the charm end the uniqueness of this place.

MIASINO is an old town located five kilometres from Orta on a plateau 500 meters above sea level among the hills which surround the eastern side of Orta Lake, The town is small and quiet, with many baroc buildings and eighteenth century Villas; the beautiful Villa Negri and the impressive San Rocco Church are worth a visit.

Miasino

Besides from being the ideal place where to relax, Villa Allegra offers many different possibilities to spend one's time.
Tennis, horse riding, biking, trekking can be easily done in the nearby. When down to the lake it is possible to sail, water sky, dive, swim and sun-bath along its shores.

Rafting, canoeing and hydro-speed can be organized along Sesia River.
It is interesting to spend one day in one of the Valleys near Mount Rosa, trekking on the mountains and discovering the rich cultural traditions of the Valser population living there.

Winter skiing is very popular in the area: either in Mottarone, half hour from Villa Allegra or in one of the various winter resort of Monte Rosa: Macugnaga, Alagna or Domodossola. There are four different golf corses all located very close to Miasino.

One can visit Magiore Lake, its astonishing parks and Villas and its unforgettable Islands. Shopping-addicts can have fun in one of the various outlets of the area.

For those who are lazy, life will be much easier: just go to the front lawn of Villa Allegra, lay down on one deck-chair and enjoy the view on Orta Lake and Mount Rosa.
