“Beautiful view, well equipped, but sadly no air conditioning”

Reviewed 19 Jun 2012

The view from this property was stunning, however, it was a very steep climb down to the village, and we needed to use taxis to return, as we had a young child in a pushchair. It was a shame that there was no air conditioning as it got very hot around the villa, especially at night. The villa was very well equipped, but we found the beds noisy and quite uncomfortable. The unheated swimming pool was extremely cold and so not used very much. But it was lovely to have the Spa.

“Pure relaxation at Golfo Di Venere”

Reviewed 9 Nov 2011

What a wonderful place to get away from it all. My wife and myself spent a week in early November at this wonderful property which has such fabulous views of the surroundings areas of Mezzagra, Golfo di Venere, Tremezzo and across the lake, the enchanting town of Bellagio. The bungalow has all modern amenities that one would expect, a well planned fully equipped kitchen, a very welcoming and relaxing living area with all the modcons, a master bedroom (with ensuite bathroom - my wife and myself fell in love with this quaint bathroom). The living area and master bedroom (see photo 3) overlooks the well groomed garden and swimming pool (see photo 2) and offers excellent views of the surrounding areas. Another double bedroom, a large separate bathroom, box room and wash room are also available. Central under floor heating with individual room temperature control and the double glazed doors and windows (all with built in blinds) rendered the place fully sound proof, and oh, so nice and cosy. The amazing outside Jacuzzi hot tub offers total privacy and at the same time overlooks onto Lake Como. One just cannot express in words the feeling of being in the hot tub with the rain beating down (yes just our luck, 2 days of heavy rains). I would not miss this experience if I had another opportunity. Access to the bungalow, given that it's on a hillside, is on a "steepish" incline and access is “relatively” easy. One drives right up to the covered front porch which leads directly onto the front door (see photo 1). "Super mercati" are located in the town centre and another one in nearby Lenno (4 min drive). Try the bakery at town centre, not easy to locate, but well worth it. Mezzegra is centrally located with various restaurants and Pizzerias located a stone throw away in nearby Tremesso and a 7 min drive gets you to Mennagio. Various car and passenger Ferries (Tragetti) depart from Cadenabbia to Bellagio and from Mennagio to the the lovely town of Varenna. Last but not least a special and grateful thanks to Nico(lette) and her husband, Mario for their wonderful and easy going Italian hospitality and for making our stay at Golfo del Venere a most memorable one, which we are sure will not be our last.

“Unforgettable experience on Como lake”

Reviewed 16 Sep 2011

We spent a week in June on Golfo di Venere after road trip through Tuscany and Veneto. First of this villa is perfectly situated in lenno-mezzegra which is right in the centre of all Como activities. Villa is nicely furnished, everything is new, all necessary anenities are in place. Most of all we liked private garden and big pool with a view on lake - this is really unforgettable. Jacuzzi was good as well. The only thing that can annoy you a little is a construction site on next villa (we heard noise several times, but this is minor distraction in comparison with the beauty around). We liked our como experience very much so if we decide to return on como it will golfo di venere. P.s. And do not miss pizzeria in mezzegra - it is really the best pizza I tried.

“Great property and location”

Reviewed 11 Sep 2011

A great property with great views over the lake. The property is well appointed and well equipped and we had a great holiday. The bungalow is up a hill in the village of Mezzegra which is partly why the view is so good. The hill makes for good exercise but those of a less energetic persuasion will prefer to use their car to get about. If you're happy to use your feet, the villages of Leno and Tremezzo are within comfortable reach and are well worth the walk as they open up your bar and restaurant options. The owner, Nico, was very friendly and helpful and we very much appreciated her help and the delivery of fresh bread every morning which Nico arranged. Nico also helped us with the arrangements we needed to make for our dog's pet passport! If there were any down-sides to the property, they were relatively minor : The kitchen is equipped, naturally enough, for tourists so doesn't have all of the equipment you might need to make something fancy from scratch; the weather during our first week was incredibly hot and, although the property has special glazing to keep it cool, it would have been great to have had air conditioning or fans. All in all, we were very happy with the whole experience and would recommend this property.

“Nice holiday in a perfect house”

“Fantastic, modern, well equipped luxury villa - with breathtaking views”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2011

This elegant, modern villa sits on the hill above Lake Como with breathtaking views in all directions. It was very well equipped, beautifully presented and immaculately clean. Nico, the owner lives nearby and she was really friendly and helpful.
