The Burgundy region
"There are more top producers in Meursault than any other commune of the Côte d’Or. Certainly it is the most famous and popular of the great white appellations. Its wines are typically rich and savoury with nutty, honeyed hints and buttery, vanilla spice from the oak" (Berry Bros.).
It is 5 minutes from Beaune, one of the key wine centres in France which hosts the country's primary annual wine auction at the Hospices de Beaune . The area has a rich historical and architectural heritage, and provides easy access to Paris, Dijon, Lyon, Geneva and the South.
Meursault itself provides numerous wine-related activities, dining, 50+ wine producers, 4 restaurants, several hotels, bakers, traitors, tiny supermarket and much more.
Full details of activities can be obtained from the tourist office in the village.

"A deluxe 5* retreat"
We arrived for the first part of our trip to France after a long car journey from the North East of England with our Hungarian Vizsla Meg & have to admit we were pleasantly surprised about the quality of our accomodation in Meursault. We arrived late in the evening and found the property to be perfect in every way. A welcome pack including champagne, butter, jams & mustard, hand soaps & every other concievable extra was provided. We awoke the next morning to a view of vineyards from the bedroom window & a great outdoor space of rattan furniture & a hot tub! The village of Meursault is perfect, quaint & beautiful. I have to say all of the restaurants in the village welcomed our dog and in particular we found Le Chevreuil on our last evening to be perfect with great food & service to match if you are looking for a more formal evening. As we explored the surrounding area we found Meursault to be ideal location for visiting the bustling Beaune & all of the wine routes within close proximity to the property. Sampling the local wine & food is a must in this area, the vineyard in the village run by Philippe Bouzereau in the Chateau De Citeaux offers sampling & good value for money when purchasing wine. We also met the owners & daughters who were lovely and very accommodating & we will be sure to return in the not to distant future.... We would 100% recommend this property to anyone who is thinking of visiting the area & would like to thank Mr & Mrs Brunner & girls for sharing their little piece of paradise with us.
