Location description from owner

The South Wales region

Bedlinog (Beddllwynog in Welsh - The Grave of the Fox) is a village in the Taf-Bargoed valley. It is a small semi-rural village with stunning mountains, beautiful countryside and a strong industrial and political history. It still retains the valley charm lost by over-development in other valleys villages. Surrounded by mountains Bedlinog is an absolute nightmare to reach on public transport so it's really best if you own a car. There are a five pubs and clubs, a Post Office and two shops in the village. The nearest major towns are Merthyr, Pontypridd and Caerffili, all about a 15 minute drive away. there is a supermarket in Nelson and two in Dowlais, both ten minutes away.

Bedlinog is isdeally placed for Bike Park Wales (15 minutes drive with beautiful views of the Beacons), The Rock climbing centre (5 mins) The Celtic Trail for biking and walking (5 mins) and the famous Taff Trail (10 mins). Cardiff and Brecon are both around 30 minutes drive away. Bedlinog is very close to the two main thoroughfares of the valleys with both the A470 and the A465 less than a ten minute drive away. There are three major country parks within a 10 minute drive (Taf Bargoed, Cwm Darren and Bryn Bach). With so much to do and see Bedlinog is the ideal destination, for families, for hikers and bikers, if you want to chill or be thrilled this is the place for you.
