It was beautifully clean and tidy on our arrival. The cottage is ideally located. Walking distance to the village and just a stones throw from the beach! My children particularly enjoyed the large garden. We will definitely book again."

West Mersea is ideal for walking, sailing, birdwatching and beachside activities. East Mersea has its own vineyard and brewery!

The popular restaurant The Company Shed , West Mersea serves oysters, clams, prawns, lobster, mussels and more depending on time of year.

The island has a strood which gets covered in sea water occasionally cutting the island off - this last for about an hour and tide timetables are available on the web for checking before travelling.

“Lovely quirky place to stay”

Reviewed 23 Mar 2013

Clean & tidy, really quirky & cosy, good location near the beach front (2 minute walk), lots of character to the property, shame no wi-fi
