This delightful 200yr old traditional farmhouse, set in the heart of the Poitou Charente, offers you peace and tranquility and provides the perfect chance to get away from it all.
Situated in idyllic open countryside 2km from the centre of Menigoute village and set in 9 acres of established gardens that are surrounded by fields, Montifault enjoys picturesque views across the valley. The abundant wildlife can be seen and heard all around, while wild flowers soak up the sun’s warmth. With night skies devoid of light pollution that can be a star gazer’s paradise.
The quaint village of Menigoute lies in the Poitou Charente, the sunniest region of western France, between Parthenay and St Maixent l'Ecole, and benefits from a pharmacy, doctor, dentist, bar/tabac, hotel, mini-market, bakers, church, bank and garage.
You can stay in The East Wing of the lovely farmhouse.
Many visitors have commented that "... the setting is fantastic - it is quiet & peaceful with no traffic noise & you can actually hear the birds singing."
The resident English owners are on-hand to give you all the help or advice you need to enjoy your stay to the full.

The Poitou-Charentes region
Well known for its mirco climate. The Poitou Charente region has much to offer locally, or within an easy drive away.
Local historic towns are St Maixent l'Ecole & Parthenay which are steeped in history & well worth exploring! Poitiers or Niort are within 45 mins drive & likewise well worth a visit, be it to lunch, shop or take in the architecture.
There are some lovely local walks & cycle tracks if you are feeling energetic.
La Rochelle is a must. Admire the wonderful old buildings & monuments, lunch in the old port, then catch some of the street artist's whilst you......... !
There are local markets on different days throughout the week. Our annual village fete is always on the 1st Sunday in August, starting with a market then a procession at midday followed by a host of things during the rest of the day & in the evening, finishing with a firework display .
Places to visit. These include Bois Pouvreau just 5 minutes down the road. La Vallee des Singes. Lambon park is alway a hit with young children, why not take a picnic lunch then a train ride round the lake, there are pedalo's & canoe's. Beach area & swimming pools. For slightly older children they have zip wires accross the lake.
Futuroscope is a great day out for all the family and I have some discount vouchers.
