Description

The East Wing is part of a 14th Century Manor House in the heart of the Breton countryside. A state-recognised site of historic interest, the manor has a fascinating history and the original owners, the Rouxels, an ancient crest of arms. Next to a working farm, The East Wing is perfect for those who want to get away from it all and relax. Here you can walk or cycle along empty roads, enjoy a barbecue over an open fire, or just sit in the garden. With very little light pollution, our garden is the perfect spot for star-gazing. The house is arranged over two floors. On the ground floor: the bathroom, the kitchen and a large lounge and dining area. On the first floor, two bedrooms and a snug. Wood floors, tiles, wall panelling and exposed medieval beams combine to offer an atmospheric and stylish setting for your holiday. You will have access to a dvd/blue-ray player and over 400 films. The house also has a barbecue area and garden. We provide continental breakfast in the original kitchen

The Brittany region

Meneac

It is no surprise that Brittany is one of the favourite destinations for French holidaymakers as it has so much to offer for walkers, cyclists, art and culture lovers and foodies.Walkers will want to take in the beautiful and mysterious Broceliande forest, haunted by tales of King Arthur and Merlin and only 20 minutes drive.Brittany is heaven for cyclists as empty roads, canal paths and green routes take you through Medieval towns and villages. Art lovers will enjoy the centre for contemporary art housed within the 18th century chateau of the Domaine de Kerguehennec, set in landscaped sculpture gardens. Also, each summer, around 20 chapels around Pontivy become gallery spaces for contemporary art, with individual artists offering a diverse range of site specific work. The outdoor photography exhibition within the streets of La Gacilly is both fascinating and spectacular and features internationally renowned artists and iconic images.Food lovers will may want to try the Michelin recommended restaurant in the local village of Guilliers, only 5 minutes away. The Friday market at Ploermel (15 mins) and the Saturday market at Josselin (15 mins) are a must for locally produced food. Regional specialities include galettes (savoury pancakes), crepes (sweet pancakes), salted caramel and delicious butter biscuits and cakes. And then of course there are many wines to tempt your tastebuds. Children will enjoy the animal park at Branfere where you can climb through the trees on a suspended walkway to see monkeys, gibbons, giraffes and magnificent tropical birds. There are also a number of gardens and parks within easy reach. A heated outdoor pool is just 15 minutes away, a swimming lake is also 15 minutes drive. All of Brittany is in reach from Leucadeuc within only 2 hours
