Nestled in the rural village of Ansty amid glorious Dorset countryside, this delightful log cabin makes an excellent holiday base to explore this pretty county whatever the season. Beautifully finished and with uninterrupted views over the lake and on to the surrounding countryside, this log cabin is surrounded by Christmas trees to ensure maximum seclusion and has a wonderful "Norwegian" feel about it.

Steeped in history, Dorset's landscape of rolling chalk downland and hidden valleys affords wonderful walking, with a network of footpaths directly from the lodge. You will be a couple of minutes’ walk to a traditional 250 year old pub which has an inviting bar and restaurant and on site there is a farm shop selling everything from locally produced meat to freshly baked bread and croissants. The area offers a host of pretty and well renowned villages, sandy beaches and a coastline which has World Heritage status. The towns of Dorchester, Blandford Forum and Weymouth are easily accessible and there are many attractions including Monkey World, Abbotsbury Swannery, Lulworth Castle to name but a few.

The accommodation is finished to a high standard and offers TWO bedrooms: 1 master bedroom with king-size bed, en-suite shower and WC and 1 twin (which can be made into a double on request). Bathroom: with bath and WC. Lounge/kitchen/diner: open-plan with woodburner (first basket of logs included, further available to purchase), TV, DVD and iPod dock. Kitchen area with gas oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher. Utility room: with washer/dryer. Outside: veranda with table, chairs and BBQ (initial supply of charcoal provided), with steps down to open lawned area. Private hot tub (please note that the hot tub may not be to maximum temperature on the day of  arrival). Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen, towels, electric and underfloor heating throughout included. Limited Wi-Fi available. 1 dog welcome, further by arrangement. Regret no smoking. Additional info: Outside tap for muddy boots and paws. Property is approached via steps from the car park area. Hamper available for special occasions at an additional cost, this can be arranged prior to your stay however payment is required direct to the owner upon arrival. Bike hire available. Location: excellent walking straight from the site, farm shop onsite (opening hours are listed in the property) and pub within walking distance. Weymouth’s beach within a 30 minute drive. Nearest towns are Dorchester, Blandford Forum and Sturminster Newton which are all 10 miles away.
