SERENITY HOUSE is a three story chic villa which has four bedrooms , four bathrooms, a fully fitted kitchen, WIFI, Apple TV and a surround sound BOSE system, an outdoor pool and BBQ, olive and fig trees and a large and sumptuous covered veranda. You can be at the beach which has four bars (one with a plunge pool) in less than 5 minutes or choose to lounge by your own private pool. There is a huge covered & fully tiled veranda with comfortable outdoor sofas and loungers - this offers much needed shade in the summer. The BBQ is fully equipped and has it's own sink and separate seating area. Nightlife is only a few minutes drive to the exclusive area of Sandova beach. Or just take a walk though the village picking figs and grapes from the trees as you pass by, stop for a frappe at George's cafe where time stands still only for the clacking of Greek worry beads.Classics lovers can find a vast array of sites - some well known like Ancient Olympia and some unknown - but just as fascinating, and all only a short drive away. Hiking for both the experienced and inexperienced walker can be found 20 minutes away in the Tayegatos mountain range.

Megali Mandinea is a picturesque village just 20 minutes outside of the bustling town of Kalamata with it's sweeping harbour, great marina and lively nightlife.. The village is unique in it's 360 degree spectacular & panoramic views of mountains and sea. It is a traditional Greek village with a mini market and 3 tavernas which are open all year. 1.5 km below the house is beach of Sandova - a hit with young Athenians who play bat and ball to the tunes of a DJ. Further along the beach is an area perfect for families with shallow, clear waters which are perfect for snorkeling.

Megali Mantineia

Megali Mandenea and the surrounding area is popular mainly with Greeks who know about it. It is not on the usual tourist map - which is why it is such a find. However with Easyjet and other major airlines now flying into Kalamata it is best to enjoy this area now before it becomes too popular.

Kalamata is a bustling Greek city which rests on a sweeping bay where you can sit and enjoy a coffee and watch the locals promenade each evening.

The area is unspoilt and stunning with plenty to do. Once you visit the Peloponnese - you'll be back.

“A slice of heaven nestled into the Greek mountainside”

Reviewed 28 Sep 2015

We travelled to Eileen's house for our family holiday - our little girl is 10 months. Best decision ever! It was our first trip as a threesome and this house was truly amazing for us. It's huge for a start but the views are incredible, panoramic and the design of the house maximises everything. The pool was brilliant to have - to be honest you didn't need to leave the house (you can shop in Lidl or Carrefour). There are 4 tavernas within 5 minutes walk into the village and since we had a hire car we drove to Stoupa and other places easily. The upstairs balcony is ideal for 'dining in' with sea views. We could truly relax and enjoy the sunshine - this house has everything you'll need and there are cool tips left by the owners to keep you on the right track. We're planning to go back next year already.

“Outstanding”

From the moment we arrived at the villa everything was better than we could have imagined. The whole villa was spotlessly clean ,we couldn,t believe the views from all around .The pool was lovely, particularly first thing in the morning and in the evening. We felt like lottery winners being able to stay in such a beautiful house with such great facilities,i would recommend this villa to anyone

“Serenity House achieves family perfection”

Reviewed 29 Jun 2015

We stayed at Serenity House with extended family: parents, two children, a grandparent, and an aunt and uncle. We could not have been happier with our stay, particularly with how family friendly the set up is. The pool is fully stocked with pool toys, for example. There are several tavernas within easy walking distance, and we generally supplemented food that we cooked or grilled on the BBQ grill ourselves with take out from the tavernas. We ate every meal on the veranda, with its cool breeze and spectacular view. There is a local market at the bottom of the hill by the water that provided all needed groceries and supplies, though we found a wonderful bakery a bit farther away toward Kalamata. There are a number of close beaches, though not within walking distance -- all 5 to 10 minutes away by car.

“Majestic Megali Mandinia”

Reviewed 22 Jun 2015

We had a fabulous week away staying at Serenity House. The charm of Megali Mandinia gives you a real sense of Greek life as it is untouched by commercialism. The village is very accommodating and it only takes a simple stroll up the road to visit one of the lovely tavernas, but make sure you stop by at Georgios Michalaes' taverna for some pure Greek honey. The house itself is beautiful with magnificent views of the mountains and sea, one could never get tired of it! The veranda was great for taking shelter from the midday sun and the few mishap storms we had, but gave us the perfect excuse for an afternoon cuppa and slice of cake from the wonderful Athanasiou bakery (five minutes from the airport, worth a stop at :) ). And generally everything is easy to use and the house has all the comforts one needs, it's like stepping home from home. We did a few fab day trips as Megali Mandinia is near to lots of lovely beaches and Greek/Roman ruins, a particular favourite was Ancient Messene about a half an hour drive away. We also thoroughly enjoyed dinner by the sea at Kitries and visiting the cute town Kardamylli, especially Anna's cafe where Greek charm is merged with Western cool. There is so much to see and do in the area and Serenity House is an ideal escape for pure relaxation, wish we had longer there!

“Great house, great views and great tavernas”

Reviewed 18 Jun 2015

We had two great weeks here back in early May 2015. As you can guess from all the other reviews, the listing and the photos don’t really do the housee justice. It’s perched in the hills a couple of kilometres from the beach in a very small, very friendly and very Greek village. There are three excellent tavernas. All of which are very kid friendly and amazing value - €30 fed and watered a family of three – including wine! We didn’t get out and about much as the local town of Kalamata had all the shopping and markets you could need (the Saturday market near the old town is excellent), and there was even a decent toyshop for my son to spend his holiday savings! Lots of nice bars and restaurants down on the beach and waterfront. While there are sandy beaches further down the coast, the local beach at Ramona is fine for a lazy day in the sun and had large patches of sand and a couple of beach bars with food and umbrellas to hire. We were there every day and the kids loved it. Mystras is worth the slightly bonkers drive through the mountains, but can be tricky with younger kids. The house itself is as you’d expect; well appointed, comfortable, stylish and in a stunning location. The service I received from the owner and the local property manager (George) was exemplary. They even organized a great value driver to pick us up from Athens after we messed up our inbound flight. The whole trip was worth every penny we paid for it!

“Out of this world!”

Reviewed 3 Oct 2014

Absolutely superb location and villa. My wife and three teenage children stayed at SErenity House. The views were stunning and the village so Greek! I would thoroughly recommend this villa to anybody, who want a real Greek experience within walking distance of the beach. I have booked again to go back in 2015. 5 stars *****

“Unspoilt Greece”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2014

A beautiful and comfortable house with a magnificent view located in a very small authentiek village half an hour drive from Kalamata (great daily vegetable market!). The surrounding veranda is very pleasant, even at the warmest moment of the day. We fell in love with the house, unspoilt Greece and the friendly villagers. The house contains four bedrooms and bathrooms and is well equipped. It is comfortable staying with 8 people. The master bedroom and bathroom are huge, the other bedrooms are rather small. Not all beds are suitable for people taller then 1.90 m. There are enough towels (clean ones in the midst of the week) and also a beach towel for every guest. Cooking is pleasant with olive oil and herbs available. The village houses some authentic taverna where the Greek food is good. For daily shopping, going to the beautiful beaches and for visiting other places a car is needed. The local manager is very pleasant and helpful. He speaks English well and makes you feel welcome. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed every minute of it!

“A Real Greek Gem”

Reviewed 2 Aug 2014

This is by far the best place I've stayed in 6 years of renting villas. The pool, the living space, the BBQ - everything was just right - even down to the children's pool toys. Our party of 8 had the most amazing time. The area is so beautiful I couldn't quite believe my eyes. There are beaches, sites like Mystras and Ancient Messini nearby. I would recommend to anyone who wants to find the real Greece

“Simply Amazing”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2014

In 5 or 6 years of renting villas across Europe this was the best place that we have stayed in. We spent a wonderful, relaxing week at Serenity House and I would recommend it to anyone. The views are some of the best that you could ever want, the pool, the facilities and the living space are perfect for relaxing and entertaining. The location of the villa is also hard to beat. There are a huge variety of local beaches to choose from, the village's tavernas are great and the proximity to other sites of interest like Sparta is a definite plus. It was an easy drive from the airport, which was a bonus, and the mountain roads nearby are stunning to drive through. Perfect for families or groups of friends. You'll love it.

“Luxurious accommodation in a magical setting”

Reviewed 21 May 2013

I was fortunate to stay here last year with my family, including 2 teenage boys. I was enchanted by the whole package. The house easily accommodated us all, with plenty of space for large noisy family gatherings and space for private contemplation. The scenery is amazingly beautiful with stunning panoramic views. The local beach had quiet corners and vibrant beach bars . The nearby town of kalamata has everything you need, shops, supermarkets and lots of traditional taverns, cafes and wine bars. One of the most enjoyable aspects was its proximity to the wonderful area known as The Mani and great day trips such as Ancient Messini, ancient Olympia (amazing) and the little visited Mystras. Well worth a visit. I cant wait to go back.

Thank you so much. It's fabulous when others enjoy what is indeed a magical place!
