From the owner

This beautiful, historic townhouse is ideal for groups or families with older children, but also makes a cosy retreat for couples, to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. It is situated in a traditional area of malta and is away from the touristy, expensive areas which give a tacky view of malta. It has three vaulted ceiling double bedrooms; the master bedroom includes super king-size bed, with en-suite. All the bedrooms are air conditioned meaning you can enjoy a good night sleep.The townhouse has an internal courtyard with large heated plunge-pool/Jacuzzi, great for relaxation during the midday sun or with a glass of wine at night. As the jacuzzi is heated it can be used any time of day, even in the summer many unheated pools in Malta are often too cold to use all day. The Mill room, a large vaulted ceilinged lounge, is one of the remaining few left in Malta. The Morning room, next to the kitchen, offers a relaxing space to enjoy breakfast. There is a bakers and patisserie just round the corner selling traditional maltese bread and pastries which make for a great cheap snack to take back to the house and enjoy round the jacuzzi.

This townhouse is packed full of history and features that date back many centuries, some foundation stones are even from the times of the Roman Empire. It is also within driving distance of local sandy beaches. A car is therefore recommended, but the buses in Rabat go to the main terminal in Valetta, allowing for travel across the island. A booklet will also be left inside the house, detailing places of interest as well as great dining establishments.

Please note that as per our suitability policy the first floor bedrooms and the roof terrace are only accessible via an internal spiral staircase. This means that the house is not that suitable for those families with young children or adults with limited mobility.

Hi Thankyou for your review The slight musty smell is the nature of these 500 year old historic properties. As regards the lighting in the kitchen we will take another look at this and also replace the old Italian coffee maker. Perhaps you never found the under-counter lighting switches in addition to the large overhead light and the floor lamp. What also helps is to put the dining room lights on as well as these rooms interconnect. Unfortunately, these historic houses were designed to keep out the light/heat and although we have made many alterations to bring in more light there is little we can do to open up the kitchen area. Our bathrooms are also decorated in keeping with the period. We will also recheck the water pressure as the house has an electric water pump to increase the pressure I hope the previous guest had not switched this off. Very glad that overall you had a great stay and the feedback always helps us to make changes for future guests where we can

Hi Thanks for the positive review Sorry about the DVDs Salvo always has some in the local format that he is happy to let guests borrow The towels will be upgraded in the Autumn. Locally they are of poor quality hence why they dont last, but we will bring some new ones over from the UK There should be some board games and books in the cabinet in the dining room, we will recheck when we are next over later this month Thanks for the feedback this always helps us with making changes for future bookers

How do damage deposits work?

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Nadia/peter (the owner) a message.

If Nadia/peter (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
