Private 7m x 4m kidney-shaped swimming pool, comfortably furnished shady terrace, sunbathing areas with sun lougers. The rear of the property has gated parking, walled utility area with washing machine, a paved terrace with table and chairs and a built-in barbecue.El Olivo is on Mazarron Country Club which is located around 10 minutes (by car) inland from the wonderful wide sandy beaches and coves of the Costa Calida (Warm Coast) resort of Puerto de Mazarron. The club is situated in a valley surrounded by mountains that protect it from the Meseta wind but allow the gentle sea breezes to filter through. Just a 2-minute walk away are the Country Club's communal facilities which include a large tropical swimming pool with bar and children's pool (summer months only - small fee), tennis courts, petanque pitches, and two large bar/restaurants.

Location description from owner

The Region of Murcia region

The Costa Calida (Warm Coast) has fantastic beaches, golf and countryside which, together with its very own micro-climate, provide a wonderful year-round holiday destination. There are around 320 days of sunshine a year, with temperatures averaging 32 degrees C in summer and 18 degrees C in winter - and the sea temperature rarely falls below 18 degrees C.

The coastline of the Costa Calida is made up of small inlets, coves and beautiful unspoilt beaches with mountain backdrops. This is an area of Spain largely undiscovered (as yet!), unspoilt by commercialism but popular with Spaniards who flock here during the summer months - but the number and expanse of the beaches ensure that they remain uncrowded. It is nothing like the concrete jungles that blot the landscape of some of the other Spanish costas.

Mazarron Country Club

Mazarron Country Club's communal facilities are just a couple of minutes' walk away and include a tropical pool and children's pool (summer months only - small fee), two bar/restaurants, tennis courts and pentanque pitch.

Lying between Mazarron Country Club and the sea is the typical Spanish town of Mazarron; on the coast is Puerto de Mazarron with its harbour and new marina with diving school, a palm-lined promenade with lots of bars and restaurants, secluded coves and superb Blue Flag beaches, as well as plenty of shops, tapas bars and Spanish restaurants in the Puerto itself. Here you can swim, sail and windsurf - or just sunbathe on the uncrowded beaches - and divers can search out the variety of fauna in the clear calm waters. Puerto de Mazarron also boasts the largest Sunday market in the region. You certainly won't be lost for things to do here. In the summer, Mazarron Council even arranges free concerts on the beach.

Nearby is Bolneuvo with its large sandy beach and strange mushroom-shaped monoliths carved out of sandstone. Around half an hour from Mazarron Country Club lies the Parque Natural de Sierra Espuna, a paradise for walkers and climbers with 250 sq km of unspoilt highlands and trails and habitat to wild goats and lynxes, whilst the coast between Mazarron and Aguilas is a breeding ground for tortoises and eagles.

If you like shopping and sightseeing, then the cities of Murcia and Cartagena with their upmarket department stores and historical sights can be reached in about half an hour.

The nearest golf course is at Camposol, a 5-minute drive away. There are many other golf courses within easy driving distance (in a car, not with a club!) including Desert Springs, La Serena, Hacienda Del Alamo, Rhoda Golf, Mosa Trajectum, Lo Romero, La Torre, Villamartin, Las Ramblas, Campoamor, La Finca, Quesada, Alta Real, Torre Parache and of course the famous courses at La Manga.

“Our family holiday”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2013

It's our 3rd time at el olivo and what can I say another fantastic time we all had. My 3 teenage kids loved the pool. It was a lovely relaxing 3 weeks and the views was lovely to look at every morning and evening. We would like to thank Claudia again for letting us have her lovely villa. We walked along the beach every evening and to the port. The villa is always clean and tidy when we arrive and picking the keys up is always easy. Just can't wait to go back there next year. “It was my fifth stay at El Olivo within last 6 years. Says more than 100 reviews”

Yet another time we had great holiday there. This is a place where 'feel like home' sentence becomes true. We enjoyed every day there. Great accomodation, great equipment. Jacek (+Joanna +Julia)

We were delighted to welcome you back again!

“Fabulous”

Reviewed 27 Sep 2012

The Country Club was quiet and peaceful at this time of year- perfect for a relaxing stay. Transport is a necessity as no supermarket on site- although basics available from the Country Club Taverna. There is also a very reliable taxi driver who lives on site. Villa El Olivio had everything that was required and was very clean. Private pool was great for relaxation. Claudia was fantastic to deal with on booking- everything went like clockwork including key pick up.

“Nice little bungalow, small but cute!”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2012

Club Mazarron is a very nice development but not a place with lots of activity, especially if you have older kids/teenagers. El Olivo was nicely furnished and 'cosy' for 3 people. Lack of privacy by the pool was our main disappointment, as the wall between the neighbouring property was very low! The 'air-conditioning' units were awful! Also, it would have been useful to know we needed to take cleaning products as there was nothing there when we arrived and you can't buy small amounts of these things in Spanish supermarkets! Overall, a good holiday but best for families with small children or older couples.

For 2013 we have installed new air conditioning units in both bedrooms. Regarding cleaning materials, it is most unsual for there not to be an adequate supply available.
