Location description from owner

The Midi-Pyrénées region

The midi-Pyrennees is a region with growing tourism. It has plenty to discover from the castles of the pays des cathars to the numerous museum from outdoor dinosaurs museum to paintings (Toulouse-Lautrec is the famous region painter) via chocolate ones. We are on the border of the Herault region and the Aude both are part of the Langudoc-Roussillon region, famous for its wine and wine routes. There are plenty activites nearby as well as some a bit further away. Plenty to choose and more importantly plenty to suit every age range.

Mazamet

Mazamet has got all the shopping centre and shops you may need. There are also lots of activities. For example, every Sunday in July and August, Mazamet offers a free concert at the park's band stand. There's also a great big market every Wednesday in St Pons de Thomière only 5 minutes away by car. There, you can find all local products, honey being one of them, organic food (there is a great local organic shop too), locally grown vegetables and of course meat, fish and cheese.

“Lovely family who made me feel most welcome”

Reviewed 27 Oct 2015

The apartment is situated close to a stream, which gives it a relaxing ambiance. The rooms were nicely furnished and the bed was comfortable. The flat was clean throughout. The kitchen had everything you'd expect, including a washing machine and there's a line outside to hang clothes to dry. It was nice to just sit outside at the table, take in the clean air and enjoy the views of the surrounding hills. There were also some lovely walks nearby that had some stunning views of the town and the forested hills. It truly is a beautiful bit of France. Lastly many thanks to Sean and Gwenaelle who made every effort to make me feel at home. I will visit again.
