Description

Villa Petra II 'Amanda' was a delightful & luxurious experience for many visitors.

The excellent comments, motivated us to double the success.Villa Petra II, 5 kms from Georgioupolis and a few hundred metres from the tiny hamlet of Maza, this charming three bedroom villa, stands alone on a tiny plateau amongst rolling hillsides covered by cypress and pine trees with the ethereal backdrop of Crete's fabulous White Mountains.Although newly built, the authentic stone walls bound together & give an impression of mellow old age & the traditional Cretan architecture is carried through to the interior montern and relaxing styll. The house enjoys all mod cons with 21st century kitchen and bathroom fittings, as well as satellite TV and a small Hi Fi system with CD player.Although Georgioupolis with its lovely sandy beaches is now a thriving seaside resort it still retains a pleasing rural ambiance and leisurely pace of life.

The Chania Prefecture region

Crete is a fantastic holiday destination with a large variety of landscapes and activities. You can
walk through the olive groves, linger in the ancient sites, visit the beautiful beaches and explore breathtaking scenery.

Another choice is the village Georgioupolis. It's a beautiful village situated on the northern coast of Crete, at about 35km distance from Chania and 20 km from Rethimno. The village square and tavern are the focal points for evening entertainment. (Chania and Rethimon are extremely interesting with their many shops and attractive Venetian harbour areas).

Maza

In the village Maza near the villa you can find a traditional tavern and a traditional cafeteria where you can taste the real Cretan specialities. For more amenities like mini markets, traditional taverns and cafenions, restaurants, tourist shops, post office, internet cafe or a local doctor you should drive to the village Vrisses. It’s about a 5min to drive.

For an even larger variety like all the necessary shops, numerous taverns and cafenions you can find them all along the coast, but a wide choice, such as banks and a post-office can be found, of course, at a short distance, in Chania. The location of the house makes it perfect for many walks all around the villa. Near the villa is a small Byzantine church to visit (Agios Nikolaos).

“Loved Villa Petra”

Reviewed 1 Oct 2012

My three girlfriends and I booked Villa Petra for a week. The Villa was even better then we expected. The Villa is spacious, beds were comfortable, all the ammenities for preparing meals were there, and the grounds are breath taking! It's not often you find accomodations that truly make the vacation that much more special! I would definately stay again!

“Treat yourself to a luxury stay in Crete”

Reviewed 22 Aug 2012

We absolutely loved the Villa Petra Amanda II. The house is spacious and beautifully decorated. The swimming pool area is perfect to laze around on warm summer days. I could have stayed there for ever.

“A home away from home”

Reviewed 6 Aug 2012

The villa was exactly how it was portrayed in the advertisement. Very charming and Gregory, the Owner, was there to welcome us. He was extremely helpful in suggesting nice parts of the island of Crete to visit. He also gave us the name of a company where we could hire a yacht and skipper for the day. He organized a table in the local Taverna of Maza and a cake to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It was absolutely perfect. This taverna is a must to try for any visitor to the villa. The pool was very clean and inviting. The only criticism I had was that there was no fan or air conditioning for the main living/kitchen area. It took a while to acclimatize especially as Crete was undergoing a heatwave whilst we were there! There was air conditioning in the bedrooms however which worked very well.

Thank you for your review. I am glad you enjoyed your stay at our villa and enjoyed your time in Crete. We appreciate all the feedback we receive and use it to make improvements so that our guests have the best stay possible. Since receiving your feedback we have equipped the villa with several fans so that our guests can choose to use these on particularly hot days in addition to the air-conditioning units. Thank you again and we look forward to having you stay with us again in the future. Gregory Papadakis Owner

“Even better than expected”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2012

A group of 6 of us recently traveled to Crete, we are all in our mid-twenties and had a superb time, Gregory was a fantastic host. We arrived on Tuesday after getting ourselves quite lost (due to our own fault) but arrived to find everything as we expected and even better. The villa is completely isolated and is very peaceful, there is a lovely BBQ which we used almost every night apart from when we were at Costas' Tavena in Maza, which is again amazing. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all clean and tidy with everything we needed including great AC as it was very hot outside. Gregory came to visit us on the second day and explained how everything worked and told us about where the best places to visit on the island. We shopped in Vrises and Georgioupolis for our essentials and found everywhere we went to be very helpful and friendly. All in all we had a great time and I would recommend to anyone as it is perfect for anyone who is looking to have a relaxed time in a beautiful villa.

Thank you for your wonderful review. I am glad you enjoyed your time in Hania and stay at the Villa. Should your travels bring you to Crete again we will looking forward to having you as our guests again and showing you more great places to enjoy.
