Description

Barwheys is a stunning luxury farm complex to rent on an exclusive use basis in the rolling green hills of Ayrshire. The farm has four newly renovated buildings built around a courtyard – three providing beautiful en-suite residential accommodation and one ancient barn converted into a magnificent games hall and chill out zone.

Barwheys sleeps up to 16 people in 8 beautiful bedrooms each with en suite facilities. Two double storey halls enable the whole party to cook, eat and play together and numerous sitting and dining areas inside and out provide space for our guests to relax in.

All the buildings have sweeping views out over the fields and woods enabling our guests to absorb the peace and tranquillity of the area whilst enjoying long summer evenings on one of the terraces or winter nights in front of an open fire or wood burning stove.

Wi-Fi is available throughout the farm and there are five HD TVs of different sizes.

Location description from owner

The South Ayrshire region

Barwheys is located in the rolling green hills of Ayrshire, offering the perfect location to enjoy the surrounding region.

Ayrshire is best known for its excellent golfing and of course, Scotland's Bard, Robert Burns. With a truly spectacular choice of world class golf courses and a fantastic Burns trail alongside many other fascinating historical places, there is something for everyone here in Ayrshire.

Ayrshire is blessed with a vibrant eating culture and there are a wealth of places of all sizes and types in which to eat, drink or buy local produce.

Within easy reach of Glasgow, and with Prestwick International Airport only 30 minutes drive away, Barwheys is the perfect base from which to explore all Scotland and Ayrshire have to offer.

Maybole

Scotland's Bard Robert Burns was born just a few miles away in Alloway and his birthplace and its neighbouring museum are fascinating. The magical Crossraguel Abbey ruins are a well kept secret just the other side of Maybole and the better known and equally beautiful Dumfries House are just 20 minutes drive away.

Culzean Castle (pronounced “Cul-ain”) is one of Scotland's best loved castles. Robert Adam's 18th-century masterpiece – a real 'castle in the air' – is perched on a cliff high above the crashing waves of the Firth of Clyde just 15 minutes drive from Barwheys.

Barwheys is a golf lovers heaven with dozens of exceptional courses for all levels of skill within 10 to 40 minutes drive. The golf courses are of a very high standard, both for quality and scenery and two of the most famous British Open Golf Championship courses in the world are a short drive away – the Ailsa Course, Turnberry and Royal Troon, host to the 2016 Open.

Barwheys sits beside a working farm and a cheese making dairy so there is always something to see. Come and help us make cheese, explore the woodland walks, visit the herd of pedigree Ayrshire cows or just sit on one of the window seats watching the countryside. You may see hares, deer, buzzards or flocks of redwings.

Ayr Racecourse is Scotland's premier racecourse and is only a 20 minute drive away. It has a dual purpose track which stages races all year round and hosts The Scottish Grand National and the Ayr Gold Cup.

We have some beautiful woodland walks around Barwheys. These can take between 20 mins and 40 minutes depending on which route you take. Further afield there are 13 paths in the Ayrshire paths network. They are an ideal way of getting to know the area and are well marked and interesting walks.
