The Gwynedd region
North Wales has to be amongst the most beautiful regions of the world; Mountains, woodland, rivers and lakes. A very fertile land with plenty of life giving rain, sun and, in winter, snow topped mountains.
When it comes to attractions, North Wales offers something to suit every taste... you will find there just aren't enough hours in the day or days in the week.
Castles, stately homes, gardens, lively family parks, art galleries, craft centres, museums, steam trains we have it all!. You can potter around charming towns and villages, explore our rugged coastline, feel soft sand between your toes, or have some family fun at the many events taking place all year round. Whatever the weather, there is something for everyone.
Stunning, unspoilt, Snowdonia National Park, Area designated: Of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Horse riding, sailing, windsurfing, walking, bird watching, picnics, mountain biking, trial riding, deepsea fishing,(Barmouth), outdoor Shakespeare(Harlech Castle), music festivals(Dolgellau), Centre for Alternative Technology (Machynleth).

"A beautiful place to stay near Barmouth"
The Stables is a lovely comfortable and well equipped house. It has plenty of space for the family to spread out (in our case 5 adults and 2 children) and the gardens are ideal for children to play. The location is beautiful and close to clean, safe beaches for the children. There is only one grudging review on Trip Advisor and that can safely be ignored: it is impossible to please absolutely everybody. We had a delightful week there, with pretty good weather in a variable summer. The kids loved Harlech Castle and Portmerion was bizarre and surpising even for those of us who had been there many years before. The owners, I'm sure, would prove helpful if any problem arose, though nothing went wrong during our visit. We would certainly stay at The Stables again if we had another holiday in this part of Wales.

"Wonderful week away in this secluded paradise"
We have recently returned from a week at The Stables and I wanted to write a review for two reasons - one to recommend this beautiful cottage to others who are thinking of a coastal break near Barmouth and two, to thank the lovely people next door who made us feel very welcome during our stay. The cottage is enormous yet homely, and is well equipped with just about everything one would need for a self catering week away. The bedrooms are spacious, the beds comfortable and with three bathrooms there was never going to be any issues! The gardens are lovely too and a real bonus is the access to the estuary which although very marshy and not really accessible the views and serenity one can enjoy just sitting on step leaves the mind in awe at the beauty of nature. All in all a most memorable and enjoyable week for all of us, aged between 2 - 71. Thank you.

"Wonderful accommodation in a beautiful setting"
The accommodation was peaceful and very comfortable. The scenery in the area was breathtaking, especially the view over the estuary and mountains from the bottom of the garden. We would highly recommend The Stables to anyone wishing to have a relaxing holiday in this lovely part of North Wales.

"Delightful property in excellent location"
The property is slightly isolated but with a very short drive into Barmouth which gives great security for letting your children explore and run free around the grounds and estuary. We'll be returning again next year. It's a great base to explore North Wales.
