"A large beutifully restored old house in a very quiet village right next to the Dordogne"

The house was very well prepared for our stay, fully cleaned & freshly made beds. The swimming pool was well maintained and a pleasure to use. It was much appreciated that the property was maintained by a neighbour who was very helpful without being intrusive. The house is very roomy and has been carefully restored and has ample parking space. Although the village is quiet & off the beaten track it has two nice restaurants with outdoor spaces which is great for the children. It also has a small but adequate convenience shop to cover basics. Having the Dordogne right next to the house is a real bonus for supervised swimming and canoeing by older children. We found it to be a good base for visiting other parts of the region and liked the fact that it is not as touristy as the more popular parts of the Dordogne which are nevertheless easily reachable. We would have liked the kitchen to have been better equipped - probably over time things have gone missing? Also we felt that, given the time spent outside in the evenings , a nicer set of outside furniture might have been provided.

"Fantastic location, wonderful house"

We are a family of five and have travelled to the Dordogne region for several years. Mews House is in such a wonderful location with access to the river and a small village with a bar and restaurant. The house was spotless and gave us us all enough space for our two weeks without feeling cramped in any way. The outside space was fantastic for both shade and privacy for our BBQ's in the evening and the pool was ample size with plenty of sun loungers. Sonia & John were perfect hosts and very always happy to help in any way they could without being intrusive. I would highly recommend the property.
