In the Lauragais countryside that alternates wooded hills with green valleys, the village of Mauvaisin, perched on a knoll, dominates the plain, and offers a spectacular view of the French Pyrenees.

The village sets between Auterive and Nailloux ( off the A66), at the crossroad on the way to the Pyrenean mountain or the Mediterranean Sea, and thus, makes the Château de Mauvaisin ideal touring sites in the south of France.

For more than ten years, the estate and the owners have been at the center of an economical and creative local dynamic. It has been invested in cultural , artisanal and environmental initiatives. In the recent years, several local entrepreneurs and craftsmen - such as an artisan baker with his famous organis bread, a market gardener producing organic vegetables and flowers, a glass-blower, an Auberge - have set up their activities in Mauvaisin. The small and quiet village has thus become a dynamic and welcoming place for traditional small businesses with a concern for environment, sustainable local growth and ethical standards at heart of their work.

The estate was constructed at the end of the 18th century. Built of Toulouse bricks, it spans two levels and is topped with a tile roof.

There are two separate entrances for accessing the property, symetrically laid out in a U-shape, delimited by the wings, around a main courtyard formed by railing and wrought iron gates.

The main house includes two comfortable and character rooms  - a master bedroom, in shades of blue double room, and an en-suite room with double and single beds - with private bathroom, terracota floor tiles and decorative marble fireplace.

On the second floor of the wing of the house are four others good-sized, renovated rooms, chambres de bonnes, with two adjoining bathrooms and two toilets on the floor.

The dining room, a spacious and luminous room courtesy of its two large windows facing south, with painted ciment tiles, a monumental fireplace and double doors opening on to the park.

Adjoining the dining room is a wide and well-equiped kitchen with a rustic fireplace and an access to a terrace.

A spacious lounge, extremely luminous which features wood floors and a white and green marble fireplace as also an access to the park.
