Description from owner

Description

Imladris is in an elevated position with wonderful view of the impressive High Tor. The Heights of Abraham with its cable car ride and Matlock Bath are a 5 min walk away. Matlock town centre is a 10 min stoll away.

There are pubs and restaurants in both these locations.

People who love walking are spoilt for choice. There are numerous walks which vary in difficulty level. Other activities close by are climbing, ( or may be watching the climbers acending the High Tor cliff from the garden terrace.) canoeing (with the main canoe launch immediately below the cottage) and Bird watching. Or you can just relax and watch the world go by.

Further details indoors

Spread over three floors, there are two double bedrooms and en suite shower room on first floor. A second staircase leads to the en suite bathroom with a large slipper bath and a view of the 'stars' at night.
On the ground floor there is a fully equiped kitchen/dining Room, sitting room with wood burning stove, boot room with utility area, separate toilet and wash basin;
Outside there is a delightful garden and private sitting area with garden furniture.
Shops, pubs and restaurants within walking distance.

Further details outdoors

Imladris is in an elevated position overlooking High Tor. There are over 40 steps from the parking space to the cottage. Additional parking is available directly below the cottage, but there are still the steps to climb to reach the cottage.

Interaction with guest

Karen and I have spent a lot of time in other rented cottages all over the country ( This is why we decided to invest in imladris ) we found it was less stress having to make appointments to pick up keys or wait for owners or agents to turn up. So we fitted a key box . This gives everybody the freedom to arrive and leave in flexible times . We value the privacy of all guests, however we are always available by telephone or message. Before you arrive at the cottage we will send you information about, getting there, parking, the wifi code , the time available on your first day ( earliest possible depending on cleaning ect. ) and of course the key box code. Please feel free to call either Karen or Paul we are happy to help.

“Xmas break”

Reviewed 29 Dec 2018

Imladris cottage......what can we say it was absolutely perfect. A great location, beautiful cozy cottage, lovely decor, very clean we had a wonderful time. Would certainly recommend it. A walk up High Tor is a must which is viewed from the cottage. The raft race on Boxing Day was great fun. Plenty of pubs and restaurants within walking distance.

“Beautiful cottage in lovely Derbyshire”

Reviewed 31 Dec 2017

We had a lovely, relaxing time. The view from the cottage is incredible (topped with snow added an extra wow!), the cottage is beautifully decorated and the location is great. We loved the wood fire which kept the downstairs toasty and the homely touches. Thank you so much to Paul for agreeing for us to moving our stay by a day due to illness. The cottage is the perfect place for a cozy, winter hideaway!

“Quaint & cosy”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2017

This was the most beautifully decorated, well-cared for & well-equipped property I've seen for a long time. So much love, care, creativity & detail has gone into making an unforgettable experience...a real home from home. We were so lucky with the weather & were even able to breakfast outside & enjoy the wonderful view. The only negative point was the parking situation...takes some getting used to!

“Cosy cottage unsuitable for children or those with walking difficulties”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2016

Nice little cottage lovely bathrooms. However would have appreciated warning that the fridge would be off (it took ages to cool down). Also no bath mats (I would have brought some from home).. A large serving spoon for the kitchen would help too. The parking spot is only suitable for small family saloon. However we enjoyed our stay. The central heating was a boon at the beginning of the week. Recommendation below subject to above caveats
