Description

Hope Terrace is a double fronted end terrace in Matlock Bath dating back to 1874 that has been renovated to a high standard and has been beautifully decorated throughout. The house has 3 floors and its layout is perfect for families or couples. On the ground floor there is a large fully equipped kitchen/dinning room and a living room with a multi fuel burner. On the 1st floor there is a large king size bedroom, a small bedroom with bunk beds (Bunk beds are full size singles but we would recommend that only a small adult sleeps in the top bunk) and a bathroom. On the 2nd floor there is a large king size bedroom, a twin bedroom and a shower room. Both of the king sized bedrooms can accommodate a travel cot. To the front of the property is a private, small-enclosed courtyard with seating. There are lovely views across the rooftops towards the hillside above Stalkholmes. The amenities of Matlock Bath including shops, cafes and pubs are a few minutes walk away, and the attractions

Location description from owner

The England region

Matlock Bath Illuminations Sept & OctoberMatlock Bath Illuminations feature a unique parade of illuminated and decorated boats on the River Derwent every weekend throughout September and October. Each boat carries a decorated model and as darkness falls the boats disappear into the blackness below, leaving the models apparently gliding along just above the water. On Saturday nights during October there are also spectacular firework displays at 9.00pm.

Matlock Bath

The Matlocks make a wonderful holiday destination with so many walks and cycle trails through the spectacular scenery, The Heights of Abraham cable cars provide breathtaking views down the gorge whilst the park itself offers a wealth of activities for the whole family such as the nature trail, water gardens and Owl Maze. Offering a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, the Matlocks are set in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent and are home to the renowned attractions of Riber Castle, Gullivers Kingdom and the Peak District Mining Museum.

“Had everything we could have wanted.... plus more!”

Great location. Very homely. Very clean. Very well equipped. Would definitely return. Lovely to have king size beds. Was 8 of us and we had plenty of space. Welcome pack was perfect!

We stayed in HopeTerrace for 2 weeks. The cottage is very comfortable, clean and tasteful. We were also pleased that there was WiFi. Everything was good quality from the beds to the welcome parcel. There was information about restaurants and shops etc. etc. for your shopping you have to go.to Matlock , but that is close and they will also deliver. Helen was there when we arrived and explained things were necessary. At the end of the first week she came and put fresh bedlinen on the beds and did the bathroom . We can really recommend this property. The Peak district is a lovely area.

“Perfect for children”

Reviewed 9 Oct 2012

The cottage is very well equipt with everything you will need for a holiday or short break. My partner and I stayed at the cottage with our 16 month old daughter for three nights. Helen had thought of everything we would need to make our stay enjoyable. Toys for our daughters age range were put in a basket,so the first thing our daughter did when we arrived was tackle all the new toys. There was also plastic plates, cups, sippy cups and cutlery. The kicthen floor and lounge have hard floors,so no worries about any spillages. When we arrived we had a nice welcome pack, red wine, chocolates and fresh coffee. Very nice touch I thought. She had also popped some milk in the fridge! That was perfect, after our long drive we needed a cuppa! All the rooms in the cottage are decorated very nicely, making them feel cosy, what you would expect from a cottage. The lounge has plenty of books for all ages. Dvds and a wii & plenty of games. Would we recommend this cottage? Already have! We hope to return to Matlock Bath in the near future, and we will be giving Helen a call to arrange another stay when we do.
