The Wales region

A perfect holiday cottage destination, Pembrokeshire boasts superb beaches, stunning scenery, and a plethora of activities including family attractions like Oakwood Leisure Park and Folly Farm. Best of Wales have numerous holiday cottages in Pembrokeshire. With over 50 beaches and the spectacular 186 miles (299 km) Pembrokeshire Coastal Path this really is a dream holiday destination that suits everyone form families, friends and couples alike.

“As a child the excitement building up to our holiday in Pembrokeshire was unbelievable. Knowing that we would soon be there crab lining from Solva harbour, swimming in the sea on Newgale beach or visiting attractions such as Oakwood park and Folly Farm, almost made the time stand still. As we got older our activities changed to include Surfing on Whitesands and coasteering around Porthclais and Abereiddy. Of course there was plenty for the adults to do as well, from eating local seafood and delights at the local restaurants and pub to relaxing and wandering around St David’s Cathedral and the local second hand book shops. The Pembrokeshire coastal path was also a firm family favourite and we would happily spend all day walking from place to place, stopping off for lunch on the way at places like the Sloop Inn in Porthgain, and the Royal George and the Ship Inn in Solva. These days I take my own family to the same magical area, and I still get excited at the prospect "

Mathry

Ty Carreg Sampson is located in Abercastle just a short drive away from Britain’s smallest city St Davids. The location is equidistant between St David’s and Fishguard and just two miles from the A487 trunk road and the village of Mathry. The Strumble Shuttle bus also passes us. Lying within the Pembrokeshire National Park, the holiday cottage is surrounded by stunning scenery and a plethora of wildlife habitats. The cottage is also in sight of ‘Carreg Sampson’, a Neolithic burial chamber, so called because legend has it that St. Sampson placed the headstone using just two fingers.

St Davids is a beautiful and unique city surrounded by spectacular coastal scenery renowned for its beauty and abundance of wildlife. St Davids Cathedral has been the dominant presence since the 12th century and was a popular pilgrimage destination throughout the Middle Ages and indeed remains so to this day attracting thousands of visitors every year. Adjacent to the cathedral stand the magnificent ruins of the medieval Bishops Palace. The city of St Davids has a great deal to offer every visitor.

The owner can also organise walking holidays on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path with walking guides or unsupported. Groups are offered a pick up and drop off service, there is no need to pack your bags every morning, just bring your boots, coat, day sack and a smile! For the more active and adventurous the owner can (In conjunction with another company) organise the following on your behalf :- Sea Cliff Climbing, Sea Kayaking, Power Boating Instruction, Sailing holidays, Sailing Instruction (offshore), Land & Sea Navigation Courses, Diving Courses, Corporate Team Building Exercises, First Aid Courses, Orienteering, Sea Cliff traversing, Surfing & Boogie Boarding.

Ramsey Island is well worth a visit during your stay. It is a dramatic off-shore island, a mile off Pembrokeshire’s coast. The island covers approx 600 acres and features 400ft high cliffs, which teem with breeding seabirds and is now owned Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. Ramsey Island is accessible by a regular boat service from St Justinian’s, which crosses the spectacular Ramsey sound, with its infamous and treacherous reef, known as the Bitches.
