Ideally situated, in the very centre of the main holiday resort of Gran Canaria, the villa is situated a short walk from the sand dunes and the long beautiful Maspalomas beach - near the Faro lighthouse and the cafes and shops of Melonares. It is an exclusive upmarket hacienda style villa in a quiet upmarket area with all mod cons - stereo/DVD/WiFI and a 55" smart TV - set in a beautiful and very private sun drenched garden with its own solar heated swimming pool sized 5m x 3.5 metres as well as a larger and rarely used shared pool - 14m x 8m . All the modern amenities (restaurants, supermarkets, taxis etc) may be found less than a 5 minute walk and the villa is a 3/4 minute drive from the busy nightlife of the Yumbo, Cita and Kasbah centres in Playa del Ingles as well as close to all the main holiday attractions; Holiday World Fairground, Aqualand, Sioux City, Perla Canaria, Go Karting, Jeep Safaris and Camel tours. The main Maspalomas golf course is a 2 minute stroll from the front door! It is literally surrounded by everything you could wish for in a holiday !

These were the worst and rudest guests ever to have been visited our villa; they were truly the visitors from Hell. From the moment they arrived they were rude and "ordered" Beverley who supervises the villa in Gran Canaria, and has done for a very long time, to do a number of things (which we are normally happy to do, without being obliged) but then for her to be insulted and shouted at and called a liar when they couldn't find a nearby recommended restaurant ("Il Gustavo for those that know it) , to order taxis before being ready and then blame the taxi is is one thing but to blame and accuse Beverley of lying when all we tried to do was be of assistance was beyond the pale. We do like to help guests from time to time, but we do not offer a full conceirge service. On arrival at the villa at their request some 2 days later to check some items they reported we discovered the following; 1. The air conditioning in full use with windows and doors open - negating the effect of the air conditioning and potentially causing damage. In any case - the airconditioning is not required in the mild month of April. 2. There was a broken hook in the ensuite bathroom which was broken during their stay 3.The bathroom door lock "didn't work" - actually it did, - although slightly stiff and they had obviously mishandled it, but in any case easily serviceable. 4. The pool had been filled up to overflowing potentially causing garden flooding; this could only have been done by them since the pool technician had checked the pool between 6.30-7.15 that very morning. We ask all guests not to tamper with the pool, especially the water level. 5. The house appeared to be a complete mess 6. They had planned a specific birthday party EVENT without notifying us in advance and indeed a party took place on the evening of 26 April. Our HOUSE RULES state specifically NO EVENTS and this was arguably a significant breach - although we are often very reasonable in this and do accept such events if clearly notified in advance including full details of numbers. None of these items are problematic in terms of our ability to correct them Beverley arranged a plumber to attend the house within 24 hours of the complaint and at latest 9.00 am Thursday. They refused to allow access and because of this we were also unable to resolve the minor issues they had raised with us. I communicated all of these matters in email on a day by day basis alerting vrbo at every stage of how rude and difficult these unruly people were. We also lodged an official complaint about this awful group of people to vrbo half way through their stay and would advise anyone against renting to them. Please read the other reviews which give an honest flavour of how people have enjoyed our villa.

How do damage deposits work?
