Our new waterfront property is located in the center of Martinscica, beautiful picturesque village on the island of Cres. Property is located only 100m from the beach and 150m from the nearby shops & restaurants (5-10 min walk). It consists of two apartment rentals, one ground floor apartment with garden, and the second duplex apt located at 2nd floor with beautiful views of bay.

This duplex apartment contains 1 large bedroom with roof terrace, kitchen/living room with pullout couch, bathroom, and a lower terrace with beautiful view of bay. Apartment features fully equipped kitchen with the newest appliances, granite counter tops and dishwasher, as well as the flat screen TV and wireless internet. Bathroom is made of travertine natural stone with glass shower. All rooms are fully air-conditioned. Living room/kitchen area opens out to terrace with outdoor seating area which has a beautiful view.

The house is surrounded with olive trees, lavender and other lush Mediterranean vegetation. This apartment accommodates 6 persons- 4 persons in the upper bedroom with roof terrace, and 2 persons on the pullout couch in the living room area. Please note the living room pullout couch is a type of sleeper that is used in the high class hotels, made of memory foam material and is more comfortable than the typical bed.

The village of Martinšcica, a picturesque village situated in the large bay opened to the southwest ,at the most gentle part of the coast of the island of Cres. Its historical core consists of the church of St Martin with a Franciscan monastery dating from the 16th century and Castello of Sforza family dating from the 17 century. Presently, Martinšcica is an urbane settlement surrounded by rich Mediterranean vegetation whose economy is based on family and camping tourist trade.

Martinscica is surrounded by uniquely beautiful beaches situated in an unspoilt nature , which offer great opportunities for a high quality and active holiday. The villages of Miholašcica, Stivan and Vidovici, which gravitate to Martinšcica, are making their name increasingly recognizable in tourist trade.

The island Cres is the biggest Adriatic island located in the northern part of the bay of Kvarner. It is 66 km long and varies in width from 2 to 12 km. Its coastal line is fragmented and is approximately 248 km long. Its western and southern coasts feature numerous bays and pebbled beaches, while its northern and eastern coasts comprise only of steep and bare cliffs.

Typical of Cres are its distinct contrasts between the northern sub-Mediterranean part with its high and dense forests of oak, beech, elm and chestnut trees and its central and southern parts with many pastures and bushy thicket. Great variety of plant (around 1,300 species) and animal life with a high number of endemic species presents quite a challenge for all nature enthusiasts.

This relatively small geographical area holds a genuine botanical garden - an abundance of species and lush vegetation. Island of Cres is also one of the few remaining nesting grounds of a now very rare species of birds -Eurasian Griffon. Excellent microclimatic conditions and a specific natural environment enable all outdoor fans and others who would like to explore the island's inland an active holiday with variety. Many kilometers of trails and hiking paths are available.

The fresh water lake of Vrana, which covers the area of 5. 75 square kilometres , deserves attention as an unusual natural phenomenon. The island Cres has to be traveled and discovered. Its natural beauty and charm are apparent and once discovered they will always remain in your heart.

"Great place for chilling out at the sea"

This is a comfortable very modern apartment that is fully furnished and ideally located. It is about 50m from the sea and within easy walking distance of the village and swimming off the beach or the rocks. We loved chilling out on the balcony from where we could watch the sea, people and boats in the bay. We also appreciated the efficient air con as temperatures were in mid 30's. The village of Martinscica is very relaxed and friendly and has a handful of restaurants and bars along the waterfront, plus a few shops. We arrived by bus from Rijeka which was a spectacular trip by bus/ferry/bus along coast and then down the backbone of the island with amazing views. We were met by the owner which was really helpful as the bus stop was a few miles out of the village. We departed on the fast ferry service which is cheaper and more convenient as it goes from the jetty by the beach - about five minutes walk.
