Malta is one of the smallest islands in the Mediterranean. It is also a full member within the European Union. Actually it is made up of three islands. Comino, with less than 10 residents. Gozo with about 24,000 residents, and Malta.

The total area of the islands is that of 316 km2 (121 Square Miles) and the official languages are Maltese and English. Present estimate total population is of about 452,000 which, 95% are Maltese, almost 2% are British while another 3% comes from various ethnic groups.


Marsascala is one of just two main activity hubs on the island. With it's long promenade facing the sea it is extremely popular with the well over 1.5 million visitors that comes to Malta every year.

It is of interest to say that the population in Marsascala went up constantly, from just 50 inhabitants about a century ago to almost 10,000 residents today. That's besides a few other thousands of visitors that choose Marsascala as their holiday destination.

The name Marsaskala reflects the history of the Maltese islands and how close Malta is to the Italian island of Sicily since it is said that the word 'marsa' means 'port' and 'sqalli' (scala) means 'Sicilian'!

The Maltese Currency is the Euro ( € ). You'll find the major bank brands around Marsascala with the latest automated machines so you do not need to carry a lot of cash with you. Practically all the major international bank cards are accepted.


This property is just 2 minutes walk from the bus stop. The public transport system on the island has been completely transformed to a more convenient means of going from one place to another on modern air-conditioned buses, yet at relatively very low budget cost.

However as explained, one can easily have access to all around the centre of activity of Marsascala simply by walk or by a bicycle if you like. However you can also opt to hire a car or even, a chauffeur driven car.

Marsascala is about 30 minutes away from the Malta International Airport and just about 50 minutes away from the most tranquil laid back islands of Gozo and Comino where you can visit by means of ferry ships that cross frequently almost 24/7.

Marsascala is also about 40 minutes away from the Malta Sea Port where cruise liners from around the world visit here almost every day and you can also take a 90 minute trip with one of the largest and fastest catamarans to the island of Sicily. Same as for Gozo, you can choose to go by car as well.


This property is 5 minutes walk from the daily needs desired through a convenience shop. It is also 5 minutes walk from the 'belvedere' where one can enjoy long walks or cyling in the most tranquil ambience, especially sunrise and sunset.

It is 10 minutes walk from the sea. It is 15 minutes walk from the centre which includes a diverse variety of bars and restaurants covering all styles of food desires, a police station, a church with frequent services and playing areas if you're coming with kids.

Within a range of a 20 minute walk you'll find one of the most equipped leisure centres in Malta combining a professional gym, very large heated indoor pool and a complete therapeutic centre.

Just 2 minutes walk from this leisure centre you'll find the Marsascala Family Park where kids can play in a diverse range of outside games, yet in a very safe environment while adults can browse through wi-fi internet, enjoy a coffee or go for a walk along this typical Maltese countryside surroundings.
