The villa, built in the early '60s, was recently renovated and used as a Bed & Breakfast, but it preserves its original architectural and structural features of great importance. The structure rises, in fact, on three floors, each with different characteristics and details which, taken together, harmonize the house making it unique. The ground floor, of rustic style, with special naval decorations, include a large breakfast room, a lobby and a kitchen on the first floor, all in vintage style. You also will find a quiet room and 2 bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms. All rooms include balconies . There is a large terrace where you can read a book and sip a glass of wine at sunset. The territory of Marsala includes the Islands of the Lagoon Nature Reserve, where stands the island of Mozia, ancient city of the Phoenicians, who collects a valuable natural and historical archeology unique. A stretch of water, bordered by the open sea through the Big Island, with three small islands in it, Mozia, Santa Maria and Schola.
Shows offer the magical waters of the salt marshes with their windmills, when at sunset tinged with red and pink or salting tanks in the period between June and September when they appear white mounds of salt.

The Old Town

The ancient Lilybaeum keeps many archaeological sites, churches and palaces in a town center that shows the various dominations (Carthaginians, Romans, Arabs, Normans). It is here that Garibaldi landed with his Thousand towards the unification of Italy. Best known for the wines that made her famous in the world and that you can enjoy the numerous wineries open to the public.
Magnificent churches, monasteries, ancient palaces, two city gates, a military district, the historic wineries make up the major monuments that the city boasts. The solemn church, Mother of alleged Norman origin and Palazzo VII Aprile, the eighteenth-century appearance, animate Piazza Loggia. The churches of Purgatory, St. Joseph, St. Francis, with the obvious Baroque style create a happy marriage of architecture and urban context. The magnificent cloister of the Carmelite convent, the church, the bell accompanied by a stunning spiral staircase, and the beautiful town square, make the complex a place of rare beauty.

The History

Marsala history is everywhere: in the remains of ancient outcrops Lilybaeum, founded by the Phoenicians of Mozia escaped the destruction of the city in 397. C., in the streets, palaces and churches. Passed to the Romans was a fervent and strategic commercial center thanks to the port, also appreciated by the Arabs for its proximity to Africa. The nineteenth century speaks of Garibaldi with the historic landing of the Thousand, on May 11, 1860, from the start to the liberation of the island by the Bourbons, in addition to English merchants - Woodhouse, Ingham, Whitaker - Florio and discover that the wine and peddling in the world.
Wine

Many wineries produce the famous Marsala DOC, made from Grillo, Catarratto Damaschino, Inzolia, Calabrian Pignatello, Nero d'Avola, Nerello mascalese.
Aged in oak barrels for a variable number of years, from a minimum of one to ten.
Wine production follows that of citrus fruits, olives, various fruits, which joins the greenhouse cultivation of vegetables and flowers, and salt in the salt.
