“Lovely house, gorgeous pool with amazing views”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2015

Property is as described and the quality of the accommodation is excellent. Friendly owners and their lovely dog in adjacent house. It's ideal for a lazy poolside holiday. It is a long drive for a day trip to the main attractions of the Pyrenees such as Pic du Midi and Gavernie, a 3.5-4 hour round trip but the house and pool are so lovely there's no need to go far. When we were able to see the mountains in their full glory, swimming in the pool with the snow capped Pyrenees as a backdrop was a magical experience. I loved the house; it has the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in (upstairs double) and everything is top quality and a wonderful mix of the best of the old and the new (particularly loved the downstairs shower room). The pool is fantastic and was bath water temperature on arrival (bliss!) and never felt cold despite a couple of overcast, cooler days.

Owner's reply: Hello, Thanks very much for your kind comments. We are delighted you enjoyed yourselves and I would like to say that you are welcome back anytime. Thanks Graeme

“Fantastic place, great location”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2015

What an beautiful house and great location! We had a wonderful time here over our 2 week stay. The spacious grounds are extremely well kept and the pool is marvellous. Towards the end of our stay the pool temperature reached an amazing 31 deg C, so no cold shivers on the way in! The neighbours were very kind and helpful and we enjoyed late night chats over a few drinks. We would definitely recommend this rental.

Owner's reply: Hi there, thanks very much for the comments. That's very kind of you. We loved having you at the property and would like to say that you are very welcome back. Thanks Graeme

“A real home from home”

Reviewed 21 May 2015

We have just (reluctantly!) returned from 2 weeks in this glorious home - it's a comfortable, homely and relaxing place to be. Sitting by the pool in the evening watching the Pyrenees, listening to the birds and the frogs is an experience not to be missed. the pictures really do not do the place justice. Breakfast, lunch or dinner on the terrace has the same amazing vierws. The house provided everything (and more!) that you could want in a holiday home, with help on hand if needed. Mirren the dog always gives you a great welcome, but never interferes. We're already planning our next trip back!

Owner's reply: Hi Helene, It was a pleasure having you at our home in France. Thanks your kind comments about A Puntos, I am delighted you enjoyed the property, the gardens and also the cycling. Finally, thanks for leaving the property in such good condition. We would be delighted to have you back. Regards Graeme

“Amazing!”

Reviewed 5 Oct 2014

We have been staying in gites all over France for years and this is by far one of the best. The house is very well equipped, very clean and has plenty of space. There are a number of places to sit outside and eat/enjoy a drink. The pool is wonderful, great that it's heated! The views are breath taking and we never tired of them. The gardens are extensive and well maintained. The beds are comfortable, the pillows and sheets were clean and changed mid holiday, along with the towels. We cannot recommend this house highly enough. The local area is very pretty and the locals are friendly. The local town has good amenities if you don't want to travel much but you're not too far from the mountains and they are well worth a visit.

Owner's reply: Hi Laura, Thanks very much for you kind comments. I am glad you enjoyed your stay at A Puntos and I would like to say that you and your party would be welcome back anytime. As I said in my email, Mirren will definitely miss the company of Tru Also thanks for leaving the place in such impeccable condition. Regards Graeme

“not long enough!!!”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2014

Having stayed in this area previously we know the area, the benefit of this property is the land that comes with it, three kids able to run play, hide and seek, rope swing for the kids just everything about it meant that we could lounge by the pool, or sit on the comfortable rattan furniture in the shade by the pool, suited our whole family aged 4 - 46, it suited us all. I cannot put into word the first morning as I opened the shutters with the view of the sun rising on the snow capped "Pic du Midi" and the pyrenees just an hour away, shops very accessible just 5 minutes away and the neighbours / owners dog was an added treat, apparently one of the most photographed dogs in France and I can understand why she was a real treat for the kids with a lovely tempriment, we where met by the owners and made welcome from the moment we arrived the hospitality and local knowledge a real help. having stayed in France for the last 14 years I can only say this was a home from home with everything we needed and if we can get the dates right we will be back next year without a doubt, peace and tranquility with all the comforts of home, and security so the kids could do what they wanted without beng a nuisance to anyone, they had lots of fun, and we got the rest we wanted.

Owner's reply: Hi Thank you for your kind comments. It makes all our hard work worthwhile. We are really happy you enjoyed your stay at A Puntos and we hope to see you next year if you can make it. The mountains will still be there I am sure. Regards Graeme

“Gazing over a warm salted pool.....”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2014

This is a dream location; gazing over a warm salted pool to the distant snow capped Pyrenees! The tastefully converted farmhouse is presented spic and span with a sufficient flexibility of bedrooms, all with excellent proper mattresses to suit large families. Ideally, it also has a terrace for alfresco for dining or just sitting out. All the facilities work well and the kitchen being equipped with a ‘starter pak’ of all the essentials for living. Helpful hosts, easy access to Trie-sur-Baise (5m.) for shopping and a superb choice of other locations and restaurants at Tillac and Miélan, all accessed on good and clear roads. Ideal lazy pool-side holiday.

“Peace in the Pyrenees”

Reviewed 17 Sep 2013

Beautiful house in a stunning location. Amazing views of the Pyrenees. Abundance of ripe fruit to pick figs galore, Excellent local markets and amenities ie butchers, bakers wine merchants all very friendly with English speaking assistants - perfect recommendations for matching wine to food. Perfect location for soulful recharge. House very comfortable with a good selection of cooking utensils, pots, dishes etc. hosts extremely friendly and very approachable with a good knowledge of local eateries/facilities/attractions. Scenic local walks. Good sized pool with selection of children's toys and sun loungers. Variety of seating areas to suit any occasion. Would highly recommend this place if you enjoy reading books, enjoying local food and wine and relaxing by the pool. Amazing cycle routes for the more energetic. Will definitely be back. P.s the cakes at the local bakery on the Sunday "a must". Oh and of coarse the local fois gras :-)

“Peaceful, relaxing, idyllic and spectacular views”

Reviewed 10 Jul 2013

Thouroughly enjoyed my stay, was sad to leave and would happly return. Spent a peaceful and relaxing ten days at this delightful house. The house had everything you need for a holiday and is beutifully decorated. Outside there are several areas where you can eat and have drinks. The pool is a good size and has spectacular views looking on to the pyrenees. The sky at night is amazing. Treis Sur Baise is a short drive away and has an excellent le boulanger where you can get lovely crossiants and pain au raisins. The cakes are also delicious. There are excellant resturants in the surrounding area. Can't wait to go back.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind comments. We are glad your enjoyed your stay at A Puntos and would be delighted to have you back any time. Regards Graeme
