The Andalucia region
The Costa del Sol being at the extreme southern end of Spain enjoys the best climate in Spain. The summers are long and hot and the winters mild. Rainfall is low and in the winter months.
There is something for everyone here - if you just want a beach holiday there are miles and miles of beach. If you like water sports you will be able to find whatever you want. If you are a golfer there are more than 30 golf courses.
If you like to explore, the countryside is fantastic with lots of pretty white villages and some beautiful lakes.
If you want some culture you can go to Malaga and visit the Cathedral and the Picasso museum, to Ronda, Cordoba, Granada or Seville and see many interesting historic sites.
For children there is a water park, adventure/safari park, crocodile park, zoo, sea life centre, amusement park and of course the beach.
Marbella Old Town is a place to wander round looking at the many little shops, and then to sit in the sun and "people watch" while enjoying a drink and some tapas in one of the bars. Orange Square at the heart of the Old Town is beautiful, in the Spring heavy with the scent of orange blossom, and later on the trees are full of oranges.
Marbella history dates back many hundreds of years, and there are guided walking tours to point out places of interest. The Old Town still retains the village feel, and yet close by you can enjoy the sophistication of Puerto Banús, well known for being a place where the stars go to relax.

"Fabulous Location! Wonderful Owners!"
My family of four stayed in this lovely apartment for five days ending what was the most incredible trip to Spain. Rachel met us at the car park and led us to her lovely apartment, a very short distance away. The apartment was clean (the inside of the refrigerator was immaculate), and there was plenty of closet space. Rachel had provisions in the fridge to tide us over until we could go to the local market. The beach is three minutes away, and Orange Square only five. We found the bakery nearest the apartment had the most delicious breads we had tasted so far in Spain. It was difficult finding whole grain bread on our trip, and my husband finally found "pan integral" in this bakery. We took a day trip to Ronda, and to the Pileta Caves (Cueva de la Pileta) in Benaojan. Well worth it. I would go check out Trip Advisor or Rick Steves' website first before venturing out.

This apartment is very central. Turn left out of the apartment to the beach and lots of bars and restaurants on the beach front around 1minute walk. Turn right and there is also lots of bars shops and restaurants also around 1 minute walk. Around 40 minutes and 60€ in a taxi from airport (Rachel arranged this for us.) 13€ to puertobanus and 6€ to a local shopping mall (lots of shops mango, Zara, hugobss, hollister etc) Apartment itself is lovely, 2 bedrooms one with en-suite, there is a safe! kitchen has dishwasher with provided cleaning tablets and outside on patio there is a washing machine with provided washing powder and softener. Beach towels and wash towels are also provided. On arrival there was bread and milk and some other goodies to keep us going until we went to the supermarket which is also within 1 minute walk :) Owner is extremely helpful always available via e-mail or mobile. Would definitely return to this apartment as its so central, safe, clean and modern inside.

"Lovely apartment great location"
We have been to the Costa Del Sol and number of times but never without hiring a car and we were a little worried that we would miss one, but the location of the apartment was great, just about 5 mins. walk to the beach and the same to Orange Square. The apartment was immaculate and Ray and David were extremely helpful, especially with their restaurant guide which we used all the time. We hope to go again sometime in the future.

"Marbella, April 2013"
The apartement is very clean, well equipped. Heating/airconditioning is in every room including bathrooms. 2 bathrooms are especially useful when travelling with 2 teenagers. Everything from supermercado, excellents fruit & vegetable store and icecream cafeteria to beach, old town are within 2 minutes walk. The house is right in the center of our touristic interests yet situated in retreat in the little alley totally quite during the night. The owners are helpful and easy to deal with. So much so that we decided to come back to this place in August.

I stayed in this lovely apartment the entire month of January with my 20 year-old granddaughter, and it was the perfect location, and Ray was the perfect landlord. The apartment is located on a lovely pedestrian street, with historic old town just across the street and the beach just one block down. There are 4 bus stops very near the apartment, and everything can be reached easily using the bus systems -- within Marbella and to other towns in Andalusia, such as Malaga and Ronda. The apartment was exceptionally clean and Ray thought of everything to make our stay perfect -- hair dryers, a notebook with helpful information, umbrellas, initial stock of food in the kitchen, and more. Ray provided helpful information to our every question. I can't think of a better location or a better landlord in all of Marbella. We will cherish the good times and memories we made while we stayed in what we came to think of "our home".

"Comfortable and stylish in a lovely area with friendly Spanish people all around."
Tucked away in a narrow street, just yards from Marbella's Casco Antiguo ... - the lovely old quarter - is this comfortable and stylish apartment. "You're in the very best location in Marbella," said the taxi driver as he dropped us off for our week long stay - and he was right! Within two minutes walk you have your choice of bakeries with fresh bread, pastelerias with sweet temptations, the freshest of fruit and vegetables from Andalucia's fields - and cafes, bars and restaurants with welcoming friendly locals. The wonderful promenade and beaches, with glorious sunsets attracting photographers from far and wide, are a 5 minute walk from the apartment. Two well designed bedrooms and two bathrooms make for an enjoyable stay, and a well equipped kitchen means you can prepare your own food for a leisurely lunch or dinner. The owner is Rachel, and her attention to detail is apparent from the moment she greets you. She gives you a thorough introduction to the apartment and leaves you a carefully prepared book with up to date local information. There's a good, easy to use, TV with Spanish and British channels, and there's free WI Fi. A washing machine, with soap powder, is a welcome addition. It's an excellent place to recharge your batteries. Marbella's warm and sunny climate suits those of us from northern Europe, where grey skies aren't uncommon. "Was I right? Is it a great location?" asked the taxi driver at the end of our holiday. "Si senor," I replied. "We'll be back." "Hasta pronto!" Yes, see you soon.

"Wonderful Apartment in a great location!"
Our stay in Marbella was wonderful. The apartment was lovely and very convenient to anything we wanted to do. We did not require a car for anything. The apartment is on a very quiet pedestrian street but only steps away from the beach, shops, the Old Town, restaurants and transporation. We could not have asked for a better location. The apartment was very well equipped with all we needed, tastefully decorated and very clean. The owners were also quite willing to please and let us know to contact them if we needed anything. My only disappointment was we couldn't have stayed longer...next time!

"Location, location, location"
We spent a month in the apartment and would happily have stayed longer! Not only is it in the best location (short walk to the beach & Orange Square), but it is also immaculate with lots of thoughtful 'extras' to make you comfortable. The kitchen is small but has a good oven, a dishwasher (which we never used) and all the crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots and pans you need. Not that you need to cook much - the apartment is surrounded by cafes, bars, a supermarket, fruit & veg, cake and bread shops - it's very easy to eat too much! I particularly loved the easy-to-use coffee percolator! The bed in the main bedroom is very comfortable and there is plenty of cupboard space and extra blankets, pillows, swimming towels etc. The apartment is very tasetfully decorated and uses the space really well with a small dining table and 4 chairs and 2 comfortable sofas. Wifi worked well and was very convenient. The courtyard is small but convenient for hanging out washing. Clothes wash, dishwashing liquid, cleaning aids etc were all provided. Everything worked (a pleasant change from some apartments we've stayed in where some lights, power points etc haven't worked). Rachel and David met us on arrival and showed us around and gave us some helpful tips. They are a delightful couple and, whilst they were unobtrusive, they were only too willing to help or answer our questions. Rachel has also compiled a comprehensive file of information which was very useful and much appreciated. Marbella is a great place to visit with plenty to see and do, good public transport and nearby towns to visit. We were very comfortable and felt quite at home in Rachel and David's apartment. We were sad to leave but hopefully will return one day.

Very modern spacious apartment with everything we needed to really enjoy our holiday. It was close to the shops and only a few minutes from the beach. It was spotless when we arrived, and the agent was very helpful in getting us up and running. Overall, a lovely experience, and I would stay there again if I'm in Marbella.
