How to get there
The nearest airport is Yellowstone Airport in Cody. This is about 30 minutes from my house. They do have rental cars available. If you prefer, you can fly into Billings, MT, they are a little less expensive than the Yellowstone Airport. They are about an hour and a half away and also have rental cars.
Getting around
You will need a car so you can go up the gorgeous Chef Joseph Hwy to get to Yellostone. Coming back you can take the Beartooth Hwy, another scenic view into Red Lodge. Both are "must sees"! Cody, WY and Red Lodge, MT are both about 30 miles in opposite directions. Both Cody and Red Lodge offer ATV rentals so you can drive through the wilderness. Cody offers the Buffalo Bill Museum and you can eat at the Irma, named after his daughter. There is Horseback riding, river rafting, canoeing, and tours of the city. Right down the road is the Clark's Fork Canyon with spectacular views. You can rent horses right in Clark.
