How to get there
Bequia is a laid-back, untouched paradise, the real Caribbean. And it's more accessible than you may think, with the extra hop on a flight from Barbados or St. Lucia taking as little as 30 minutes. This short journey will take you away from big-scale resorts, shopping malls, noisy traffic & beaches full of tourists... to an island of natural splendour with friendly & welcoming people, swaying palms, idyllic beaches, lush green hillsides and a simple, unhurried lifestyle. There is also the option to fly to St. Vincent & take the 1 hr ferry ride into Bequia.
Getting around
Bequia is just 7 square miles in size and The Lookout is centrally located which means leg power is a free & rewarding way to get from A to B. Transport options on Bequia are fun and generally inexpensive. The open-sided taxis offer a breezy and exhilarating ride and can be booked for short trips to the beach or a restaurant or why not book one for a personalised island tour. The dollar vans are equally fun & cost just $1EC…….but you have to share your ride with others. The bus will keep stopping and filling up with people and you may find someone sat on your lap by the end of the trip so it’s a great way to integrate and make new friends! Jeep hire costs around $50US per day and will give you freedom to roam the island at your leisure
