The nearest shopping facilities are a medium-sized supermarket, a groceries store, and a bakery all located at a distance of 0.5-1.0km from Dias House. The town of Gytheio is located 4km away; it can be reached via bus or taxi if you don't have a car. Even though a car is not really necessary during your stay at Dias House, it comes recommended for the many day-trips to be done. Sparta with its impressive ruins and archaeological museum, but also the Byzantine fortified town of Mystras (40km away). The beautiful Byzantine fortified town of Monemvasia as well as the islet of Elaphonisos with its amazing Simos beach (60km away). The caves of Diros (15km away) but also further south to the end of Mani at the cape of Tainaro (25km away).
