How to get there
From Leyburn
Take the A684 to Hawes where you’ll join a small one way system cobbled street into Hawes. Carry on through Hawes, past the shops, and the take the next left just past the school (signed posted to Gayle). Drive past the Wensleydale creamery and bear left over Gayle beck bridge. Follow the road to the right and drive just past Yarn house to park. There will be plenty of parking space available.
From Sedburgh/Ingleton
Take the A684 to Hawes. As you approach Hawes, look for the school and take the right turning to Gayle. See the instructions above to find the cottage.

Getting around
Some personal favourite things to do: Ingleton waterfall walk (all day, my favourite walk). Malham Cove walk (all day, great views, plus Harry Potter 7 location). Buttertubs pass (great drive). Tan Hill pub (worth the drive). Hardraw force waterfalls (spectacular after the rain). Lake Windermere (1.5 hours drive each way, take a boat ride etc.). The Forbidden Corner (good for young kids). Great walking and cycling straight from the front door.
