How to get there
Venice is located almost midway between Ft. Meyers and Tampa bordered by I-75 to the east, the Gulf of Mexico to the west, Sarasota to the north, Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte to the south. Major nearby airports include Orlando 2 hours away, Tampa and Ft. Meyers 1 hour away. Commercial airports are also in Sarasota and Punta Gorda both about 30 minutes away. Venice also has it's own airport although primarily for general aviation aircraft.

Getting around
Venice has been nationally designated a "Bicycle Friendly City". Depending on your personal abilities, cycling and walking throughout Bird Bay and into Venice's downtown area are very doable. Two shopping centers, with supermarkets and restaurants, and all activity areas within Bird Bay Village as well as county bus stops are an easy walk from the villa. A car might be unnecessary but recommended to appreciate all the area attractions.
