The Kona International airport to Keahou is between 12.6 to 14.1 miles to the condo depending which route you take, Alii Drive is the long version from Kona town,. Stay on Queen Kaahumanu ( Hwy 11) is the shorter route. Turn right on Kamehameha 3 down to Alii Dr., then turn left to Country Club Villas. Stop at Costco before you arrive at the condo for all your BBQ treats!. Head up north 30 minutes past the airport to Waikoloa to the Lava Lava club and beach, or even further north to Hapuna Beach State Park for some boogie-boarding. Maybe a visit to Hilo or Volcano National park. Hawi is a wonderful drive and shows the diversity of the island and on certain days, views to Maui. There are many wonderful places to visit on the Big Island, so having a car is the best way to explore.
