Coming out of the OR Thambo Airport complex, follow the signs to Johannesburg. Start initially in the right hand lane.

Soon you will be on the R24 highway. This road then flies over and joins the N12. (You do not take any turnoff - just go with the flow.)

On the N12, get into the second lane from the right. The road splits-keep right. Immediately after the split, the off –ramp to Pretoria is on your left. The road narrows to one lane and you stay left. That takes you around and down onto the N3.

You are now heading north. Stay on this road and ignore any turnoffs to Johannesburg or Pretoria. (The signs tell you that you are heading for Bloemfontein and Roodeport - that is what you want.)
