How to get there
Fly to Los Cabos (SJD) airport on numerous airlines. After passing through Mexican immigration and customs, met either your prearranged Cabo del Este taxi driver or meet the pickup service for your car rental..
If renting a car, exit the rental lot and drive in the direction of La Paz which is north on MX1. The airport is KM 47; Los Barriles is KM 110. Drive abouut 1 hour to Los Barriles. Caution is recommended due to the variety of farm animals ranging beside the highway.
Check in is at the front desk of the Hotel palmas de Cortes, a well known resort operated by the van Wormers.
Getting around
You do not need a car to enjoy Los Barriles. There is shuttle service at the Los Cabos airport which is available by reservation. I have enjoyed Los Barriles since purchasing the condo in 2008. I've found Baja has much to offer so I personally rent a car. There are historic sites to the north of Los Barriles in El Triumfo and Todos Santos. South, there is San Jose el Cabo and Cabo san Lucas for die hard gringos. We have frequent day trips to San Jose, Todos Santos, Cabo san Lucas, Cerritos and La Paz for exploration, dining and shopping
