In winter or snowy conditions, you will need a 4-wheel drive/all wheel drive vehicle and/or snow chains. Please be prepared and have snow chains at minimum (you can purchase as you get into Banner Elk). We are not responsible for dangerous road conditions (Beech Mountain sometimes mandates the use of an all-wheel / 4-wheel drive and / or snow chains to get around in winter weather conditions - there is a sign with flashing lights as you enter the mountain).
