Omis is an ancient market town sat against the majestic Mosor Mountains and where the River Cetina meets the clear water of the Adriatic Sea. It is an ideal base for exploring the Cetina Gorge where hiking, mountaineering and rafting on the river are popular adventures. The towns well preserved 16th century fortress affords spectacular views from its hilltop vantage. The town's main claim to fame is as the center of Dalmatias' pirate history and folk music (Klapa).
