How to get there
Whilst a car is not necessary due to our central location, car users may prefer to take the scenic route to Ilfracombe via Coombe Martin. The approach from an easterly direction is very pretty. Ilfracombe and neighbouring towns are linked by a good regular bus service which also stops at Barnstaple Railway station for those travelling to North Devon by train.
The nearest airport is Exeter and it is served by both domestic and international flights. Onward travel to Ilfracombe from Exeter airport can be made via regular bus services to Exeter St.David's Rail Station where you will find frequent trains to Barnstaple Rail Station and a further bus to Ilfracombe.

Getting around
Whilst a car would undoubtedly be a great asset to enjoy all that scenic North Devon has to offer, travel by bus to neighbouring towns is always an option. Please check on-line for the latest information on bus services to nearby towns such as Bideford, Appledore, Barnstaple etc. The famous Tarka Cycle Trail is easily accessible via bus to Barnstaple where cycle hire is available. Interestingly, Ilfracombe is one of a very small number of departure points for ferries to Lundy Island. Please check for seasonal schedules before travel.
