Arrival on Kauai is by airplane at Lihue Airport. Rental cars are readily available and recommended. It is about a 45 minute drive from the airport to the house. Taxis and a bus are available for transport to Hanalei, and the house is walking distance to the beach at Hanalei Bay and a short stroll into downtown Hanalei, but if you want to do any other exploring on the island, you would do best to have a car.
