Wissett Cottage is a 17th Century grade II listed stone cottage conveniently situated near the centre of Corfe Castle village. The main approaches to the cottage are on the A351 via Wareham (where there is a mainline railway station) or across the Sandbanks Ferry from Poole or Bournemouth via Swanage. Ferries run three times an hour each way and the crossing takes about 5 mins. Ferry information may be obtained from the Bournemouth Swanage Motor Road & Ferry Co. Both Swanage and Wareham are each 5 miles away. Wareham has links to the national rail network, including a direct service to London. Getting around
The cottage is centrally located within the beautiful Isle of Purbeck. Regular bus services to Swanage, Wareham (connecting with nationwide Network Rail services) and Poole operate through the village, stopping close to our Front door. As well as this, the heritage Swanage Railway operates a mixture of steam and diesel-hauled services between Swanage, Corfe and (in summer months) Wareham. Of course, our magnificent scenery is, for many, best enjoyed on foot. A plethora of superb walks within the Purbeck Hills and to the world-renowned 'Jurassic Coast' can be accessed directly from Wissett Cottage. Maps and guides are available for your perusal during your stay.
