How to get there
Osprey's Rest is about an hour north of San Francisco on highway 101, and is serviced by both San Francisco International and Oakland Airports, either of which is approximately 1-1/2 hour's drive. Our local Sonoma County Airport (STS) has service from San Francisco and is only 10 miles from the house.
Be sure you have the owners directions before departing on your trip. Once in the Russian River area GPS is not entirely dependable, and finding our remote location requires specific directions!
Getting around
Our home is directly across the Russian River from Korbel Winery, which is the western terminus of the Russian River Wine Road co-op of dozens of fine wineries. Several award-winning restaurants are in the area, and the scenic Sonoma Coast of the Pacific Ocean is about a half-hour drive. Approximately the same distance to the north is the delightful town of Healdsburg, with its famous town square, dozens of excellent restaurants and shops, and tasting rooms of many of the county's famous wineries. Nearby in Guerneville is Armstrong Redwoods State Park, an inspiring representative of California's Giant Redwood groves.
