How to get there

Situated on the Tuscan coast in central Italy, San Vincenzo is easily reached by car, train or plane . The ports of Livorno and Piombino provide connections with the archipelago, Sardinia, Sicily, Corsica and Elba. Airrport: The nearest airport to San Vincenzo is Pisa - Galileo Galilei: 70 Km The Car Rental Service at Pisa Airport: The Car Rentals Terminal is only 500 meters from the terminal building and is directly connected to the Airport by a shuttle bus service. The shuttle bus stop is located just outside the Airport Arrivals area. You can also reach the Car rentals Terminal on foot after 5 minutes walking only. Even if you arrive on the last flight, you will always find at least one company waiting for you and ready to meet your requirements. If you are approaching from Siena or from the south of Italy, take the SS1 “Aurelia” coast road in the direction signed to Livorno, and then turn off at “San Vincenzo sud” exit. Along the motorway you can easily reach many points for refreshments like Autogrill or Fini Grill. By train the railway lines are Genova-Roma or Florence-Pisa-Roma. The San Vincenzo railway station is in the town centre and is well served by regional and long distance trains. At this point, I can suggest you few interesting places that are on the way to San Vincenzo, that you must visit!! Along the way to san vincenzo you can meet a lot of places and scenic roads that are worth visiting, such as, for those coming from the north, you can not miss a visit to Bolgheri and its historic "Viale" only 21 km far from San Vincenzo: the scenic road lined with tall cypress trees that lead to Bolgheri mentioned in the poem "Davanti a San Guido "written by the poet Giosuè Carducci. For those coming from the south, very interesting is the the archaeological park of Baratti and Populonia (13 km far from San VIncenzo); the park includes a significant part of the ancient town of Populonia, a unique Etruscan settlement built directly on the sea, with its necropolises.
