How to get there

The Lago Maggiore area is very easy to get to by plane, train, car or even boat. It is just 45 minutes by car from Italy's second most important airport: Malpensa and 5 minutes by taxi or car from Stresa, an important train station with fast connections to Milan and Switzerland. A major plus is that it can easily be reached from Northern Europe in one day, saving you a day on arrival and a day on departure compared to locations in Central or Southern Italy. The motorway connecting the area and Switzerland is toll-free. Much of the centre of Someraro is car-free and so most houses in the village do not provide parking. Casa Lavander is no exception. This means holiday-makers need to find parking space in the village. This is perfectly safe. Usually it is not necessary to walk more than 100 metres from where you leave the car. It should also be mentioned that you have to be reasonably fit as the house is away from away from the road and there are steps up to and inside the house which is built on three floors.

Holiday makers arriving by way of Switzerland through the Simplon pass, can exit the motorway at Baveno and join the road to Someraro, whilst those travelling via Locarno can exit the lakeside Via Sempione at Baveno and take the same road to Someraro.
